5-16 ADOPTION OF TAX BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2017 Ben Gill moved that in accordance with the law, and following the Tax Budget Hearing of January 4, 2016, at 11:30 A.M., the Fiscal Year 2017 Tax Budget be approved as submitted (Appendix A). seconded the motion. 6-16 REGULAR MEETING DATES FOR 2016 moved that the Board of Education of the Wheelersburg Local School District hold its regular Board of Education meetings on the fourth Monday of each month (February-December 2016) at 6:00 P.M. at the Administrative Offices, 620 Center Street. 13-16 EMPLOYMENT OF SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS On the recommendation of the superintendent of the South Central Ohio Educational Service Center, the following teachers have been nominated as substitute teachers for the 2015-2016 school year (Appendix D). On the recommendation of the Local Supt., Ben Gill moved that the Superintendent s nomination be accepted and that they be employed on an as needed basis and paid the Board adopted rate for days actually taught. 14-16 ADJUSTMENT OF SALARY Notification has been received from the South Central Ohio ESC superintendent verifying degree and years of experience for Sarah Newman. On the recommendation of the Local Supt., Ben Gill moved to adjust the salary of Sarah Newman based on a Master s Degree and ten (10) years of experience, reflecting a change from eleven (11) years of experience. 15-16 EMPLOYMENT OF SUBSTITUTE SUPPORT STAFF On the recommendation of the Local Supt., Ben Gill moved to employ the following as substitute support staff personnel for the 2015-2016 school year and be paid the board adopted rate for hours worked: Van Driver Aide Debbie Salyers Sherry Gifford 16-16 ACCEPTANCE OF RESIGNATION Dear Mr. Knapp, Mr. Grice and the Wheelersburg Board of Education, I would like to give the Wheelersburg Board of Education notice that I plan to retire at the end of this school year. It has been my privilege to teach sixth grade, kindergarten, first grade and second grade student during my 27 years at Wheelersburg. Every position has been challenging and rewarding. I would like to thank the Board of Education and administrators for always being caring and cooperative. I have always been blessed to work with an extraordinary group of teachers who challenged me to work my hardest just to keep up with them. I trust that I have made a positive influence in the lives of my students. My goal has been to help them to build a firm educational foundation in their early years. It has been my joy to see so many of my students graduate and pursue their dreams. I feel very proud to say that our three children are Wheelersburg alumni and our daughter and sonin-law moved back to Wheelersburg, so their children could also benefit from a Wheelersburg education. These grandchildren will be giving me a reason to continue to be a Wheelersburg Pirate even into retirement. Once again, I thank you for giving me the opportunity to teach at Wheelersburg Local School District. It has been an honor to part of one of the best school systems in the state of Ohio!
