Seth Hogan Chad Funk Amendments & Agenda Changes Terra Verde Club representative Theresa Galhouse was added to Guest Speakers. KDAWG representative McKinlie Baxter was added to Guest Speakers. Student Concerns & Comments Guest Speakers noted that students would like a clock in the SUB Lounge area. said students have asked her if the $10.00 swimming pool fee is still assessed to students. Both Dr. Hajduk and President Hansen said that the fee is no longer assessed. Chancellor Beth Weatherby Thanked ASUMW for bringing back Homecoming to UMW. Encouraged Student Senate to keep the traditions and energy alive. Noted that a new Events Coordinator position will be added in the upcoming weeks. This position will help coordinate future homecomings. Noted that official UMW enrollment is 1,501. Chancellor Beth Weatherby
Position Reports Marcus Murakami & Lece Gayle of Gaming Club Noted enrollment of about 70. Noted attendance of at least 12 members per meeting. Noted that Gaming Club is helping with Haunted Basement at Great Harvest. Anticipate $2,000 in revenue which will be donated back to UMW Drama Club. Also helping with Cat in the Hat. Planning Club Week right before spring break. Planning trip over spring break to Comicon. Noted that club now has a Facebook page. McKinlie Baxter of KDAWG Radio Presented plans for Club Day on November 2, 2016. Explained Club Day as a way to jointly promote KDAWG and Campus Clubs. Event will also bring more listeners and more DJ s to KDAWG. of Terra Verde Gallhouse provided an update on recent events and meetings for Terra Verde. Club is planning a Star Gazing event. Gallhouse invited all to join Terra Verde for coffee every Friday in the Terra Verde room. President Delaney presented thank you cards for Residence Life and Dining Services for their help during Homecoming Discussed Game Room Dedication (Colton Rohlf). The plaque is done. Senate would like to hang the plaque as a tribute to Colton when the weather is good in order to accommodate Colton s family. Ideas suggested included game room tourney, folf tourney, lantern ceremony. Reported on Program Prioritization Workshop. Shared Provost Deb Hedeen s notes from the workshop. typically involves staff and faculty due to the lengthy, multi-year process. He further added that the workshop is an opportunity for someone new to look at UMW programs and departments with a neutral perspective. Noted that progress has been made on the revised Academic Discipline Process. Hansen asked senate if they thought it would be beneficial for first infractions of the Academic Dishonesty Policy be sent to the Learning Center. Senators were in agreement that students could benefit from help at the Learning Center. Nicole Hazelbaker noted that the final Academic Discipline Process will be brought to Student Senate when complete. Vice-President Reported that she is working with clubs on meeting new requirements. Plans to make a FAQ sheet for all senators to help answer questions regarding new club requirements. Goal is to prevent misinformation. Office Manager Keeley Fitzgerald Commended senators for their work during Homecoming. Noted that bids will be presented in the upcoming weeks from Blacktail Station, The Old Hotel and the Longhorn for the 2016 Christmas party. Senator Funk suggested the Wagon Wheel also be included. Committee Reports ASUMW Sub- Committee Reports Treasurer Seth Hogan Nothing to report. Chair Kade Patton Nothing to report. Reported that RPE Task Force has met. Lexi Benson, Coordinator of RPE Task Force, will manage a grant for the 2016-17 year. Plans are underway for a bystander intervention program. RPE is planning campus events to bring awareness to RAPE prevention and education. Senator Funk suggested coordination between RPE Task Force and Wrestling Club as Wrestling Club is planning a Self Defense Workshop. Destany Field Reported on Suicide Prevention committee. Field is working on a course to bring awareness to suicide prevention. Invited senate help. Reported that she still hasn t heard from anyone regarding her Faculty/Senate Committees. Reported that Graduation Committee is planning for 2017 ceremony. Planning to bring in a professional photographer. Reported that Club Accountability committee is going well. Very few violations to date. Reported that Good Neighbor Program is planning a spring event to thank community. Currently working with Marketing Department to advertise and plan event. Unfinished Business New Business Financial Committee Recognition of Accomplishment Asked for Festival of Trees Committee to meet directly after adjournment. Nothing to report. MAS President Hansen provided senators with a Legislative Priorities handout. Hansen provided senators with a draft of the MAS Opinion Editorial that all student senators in Montana will be encouraged to submit to hometown newspapers. Senators were asked to provide hometown information on Senator Hansen s spreadsheet. Nothing. Jes Tews commended rodeo members for top performances at MSU. commended the Environmental Interpretation Class for a successful Living History Event at Birch Creek Center. Tanner Lehr commended the football team for their Homecoming win. commended the 2016 Homecoming Court and King Dakota Pineda and Queen Britt Cooper. Announcements Jes Tews noted that Farmer s and Rancher s Club will be showing the movie Blue on campus.
