November 2014 General Meeting: Board Meeting: 4 th Wednesday of every month Wednesday before the regular meeting Magic s Pizza, Selah Magic s Pizza, Selah 7:00pm 7:00 Deadline for newsletter submissions is 7 days after the event, If you re submission is not received by that date, it could be put off until the next month s newsletter. Membership Requirements: Attend 2 meetings or club functions per year Have a valid driver s License Own a Mustang or Cougar Provide proof of liability insurance Be 18 years or older or join with parents as a family membership Annual Dues Single: $17.00 Family $20.00 SCMC Board Minutes 10/15/2014 President David Hawkins brought the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. Others in attendance were Ray Fletcher, David Mitts, Jan & Guy Anderson. Minutes of the last meeting were approved. Treasurer Mitts reported we have at this time $6,256.52 in checking and $2,009.00 in savings. He will have a more thorough accounting of funds and balance sheet by next meeting. David Hawkins states that he did not receive his news letter in the mail; David Mitts said he will call Tracy Ratliff about the news letter. Ray Fletcher went to the Mary hill open car show on Oct. 4 th. He states he didn t win a trophy but he did win some nice raffle prizes. Thirteen club members attended the Concours d Elegance car show in Patterson on Oct. 5 th, each of the following placed in their class: Ray 2 nd, Richard 3 rd, Claude 2 nd and Jan 3 rd. It was great weather and a lot of Mustangs! New Business: The board approved new members Tom & Marty Dittmar, and Welsley Ward. Welcome. The Coffee stop fund raiser we do every year is going to be in August 21-24, 2015. We discussed other fund raisers and David Mitts suggested a White Elephant sale. Jan & Guy have reserved the club house in the park at Sun Country Estates for our Christmas party on Friday, December 5 th. We will need $100. 00 cleaning deposit and it will be $2.50 per person (the club will pay the bill). Membership Dues are due in October, and nominations for new board members will be in November. The board approved 2 Thanksgiving dinners for two families for a total of $75.00. Jan will make a thank you card for Steven & Carolyn for all they have done for the club. SCMC General Membership Meeting October 22, 2014 President David Hawkins brought the meeting to order at 7 p.m. at Magic Pizza in Selah. Last month s general meeting minutes were approved by the club. Treasurer David Mitts reports we have $2,009.05 in savings. In checking we have as of tonight $7,320.94. The total money we made from our clubs car show in September is approximately $9, 400.00 minus $3,861.00 in expenses leaves $5,539.00. Old Business: David Hawkins reports at the Zillah open car show on October 19 th only 2 members from the club attended him and Ray Fletcher. David won an award for his car. There were a total of 49 cars at the show. New Business: Velda Welch who is in charge of the Coffee Stop fund raiser states that it will be in August 21 st thru 24 th of 2015. The Veterans Day parade is November 11 th in Yakima. Those who wish to be in the parade meet at the old Greyhound bus depot on the corner of 6 th street & Yakima Ave. at 8:30 a.m. The next club meeting will be on the 3 rd Wednesday, November 19 th at 7p.m. The board meeting will be prior to the meeting at 6 p.m. The board announced its nominations for board/officer positions for next year. At the November meeting on the 19 th, members will be able to nominate members in good standing for officer positions. The election will then be held at the Christmas party on Friday December 5 th. If you cannot attend the December 5 th party/meeting, you can request an absentee ballot from the secretary. The December Christmas party will be held at the Sun Country Estates Park (club house) at 3701 Gun Club Rd. (Terrace Heights). At the party the gift exchange will now be gender specific. So women buy female gifts, men buy male gifts. The gift limit is $15.00. Thanksgiving food baskets are being done again. The Club is donating $75.00 toward the baskets. Please bring Non-perishable food items to the November meeting! Velda is also taking cash donations so she can round out the baskets with some shopping. The Club will be doing the shoe box Christmas gifts again this year for Triumph Treatment children. At the November meeting please sign up for a child to help make their Christmas a little better. Velda estimated 25-30 kids; she will have the names and gender at the November meeting. Reminder: The mustang club dues are DUE. If you have not paid them yet you can at the next meeting, Thank you. REMINDER OF NOVEMBER S CLUB MEETING----IT S BEEN MOVED The November regular business meeting has been moved forward 1 week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. So instead of the 4 th Wednesday in Nov, the regular business meeting will be on the 3 rd Wednesday, Nov. 19 th, at 7 PM at Magic Pizza in Selah. The board meeting will be prior to the regular meeting at 6 PM. THANKSGIVING BASKETS----BRING YOUR GOODIES FOR THE BASKETS Thanksgiving food baskets are being done again. PLEASE BRING NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS TO THE NOVEMBER 19 MEETING!!! Velda is also taking cash donations so she can round out the baskets with some shopping. SCMC CHRISTMAS PARTY & SHOEBOXES GIFTS At the December Christmas Party, the gift exchange will now be gender specific.
