The next regular meeting of the Lake Board of Education will be Monday, March 14, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at Lake Middle School / Large Group Instruction Room, 511 Market Avenue South, Hartville, Ohio 44632. New Business It is recommended that appropriations are adjusted as follows: General Fund Salaries Decrease $145,000 General Fund Benefits Decrease $100,000 General Fund Capital Outlay Increase $245,000 Permanent Improvement Fund Increase $113,000 A. Resolution to Purchase Property It is recommended that the Board of Education authorizes and approves the acquisition of property for a purchase price of $90,000.00 plus reasonable closing costs and other adjustments to be provided for in the Contract as submitted to the Board of Education as ADDENDUM #1. 11. Superintendent's Report It is recommended that the Superintendent's Report be accepted as presented: A. Donations It is recommended that the Board of Education accept the following donations: 1) Behringer Europort PPA2000BT (2,000W, 8 channel portable PA system with 4 MIC/line inputs, 2 stereo line inputs, built-in effects, Bluetooth connectivity, handheld mic and two speakers) 2

2) Behringer Ultralink ULM202USB (2.4 GHz handheld digital wireless system with 2 handheld microphones and dual-mode USB receiver. Donations are from Hartville Elementary School PTO and Lake Elementary School PTO and the total amount shared between the two PTO s is $949.98. B. Personnel Certified Resignation/Retirement It is recommended that the following certified resignation due to retirement be accepted as presented effective June 1, 2016: 1) Eugenia Gamboa C. Personnel Supplemental Resignations It is recommended that the following supplemental resignations be accepted due to employment in another position. 1) Rich Venuto Assistant Athletic Director effective January 15, 2016 2) Rich Venuto Ticket Manager effective January 15, 2016 D. Personnel Administrative Employment/Replacement It is recommended that the following individual be issued a one-year, limited, administrative contract as noted for the remainder of the 2015-2016 school year in accordance with the negotiated agreement, board policy and pending all appropriate credentials are submitted to the Lake Local Administrative Office: 1) Rich Venuto Interim Athletic Director (January 18, 2016 July 31, 2016) E. Personnel Non-certified Employment/Replacement It is recommended that the following individual be issued a one-year, limited, noncertified contract as noted for the remainder of the 2015-2016 school year in accordance with the negotiated agreement, board policy and pending all appropriate credentials are submitted to the Lake Local Administrative Office: 1) Joann K. Hughes Part time aide / Lake Elementary School effective February 4, 2016 3

F. ADDENDUM #1 M. introduced the following resolution and moved its passage: RESOLUTION NO. AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF REAL ESTATE (Ohio Revised Code 3313.17 and 3313.37) WHEREAS, Steven Keim (together, Seller ) own a certain parcel of real property situated in Lake Township, Stark County, Ohio, designated as tax parcel number 220265 (the Property ); WHEREAS, the Property is located adjacent to (and to the north of) the District s existing Lake High School campus and is desirable as land available for any future expansion of the parking area in the vicinity of the Property or for other school-related purposes, and the Seller desires to sell the Property to the Board for a purchase price of $90,000 and on such other terms and conditions as will be set forth in a Real Estate Purchase Contract to be finalized by the parties (the Contract ). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education of the Lake Local School District, Stark County, Ohio, as follows: 1. It is found and determined by the Board that the Property is needed for school purposes. 2. The Board hereby authorizes and approves the acquisition of the Property for a purchase price of $90,000, plus reasonable closing costs and other adjustments to be provided for in the Contract. 3. The Superintendent, Treasurer, and/or Board President are hereby authorized to finalize the terms of the Contract with the Seller, on terms consistent with this resolution. 4. The Board President, Superintendent, and/or Treasurer are authorized to execute the final Contract and any and all other documents required to be executed pursuant to the Contract or deemed by any of them to be reasonably necessary in connection with the Board s performance under the Contract and the closing of the transaction contemplated thereunder. 5. Any prior actions taken consistent with this resolution are hereby ratified, affirmed, and approved.
