State Chapter Award Criteria Assessment Outstanding American Demonstrates wrestling's pride in those who have used the disciplines of the sport to launch notable careers in other walks of life, such as science and technology, business and industry, government and the military, and the arts and humanities.
State Chapter Award Criteria Assessment Medal of Courage Presented to a wrestler or former wrestler who has overcome what appear to be insurmountable challenges, which may be physical, mental or other disabilities that make their achievements all the more uplifting.

State Chapter Award Criteria Assessment High School Excellence Award The High School Excellence Awards, are presented annually to a high school senior, is based equally on outstanding wrestling success, scholastic achievement and citizenship or community service. Winners are chosen at the state, regional and national level.
State Chapter Award Criteria Assessment High School Excellence Award Chapter Nomination Timeline Each chapter may submit 1 nomination to the Stillwater office (Maghan Cawlfield) no later than the week following the NCAA Division 1 Championships. This nomination is presented to the committee for review but is not a guarantee the nomination will be selected. You can ask for nominations from others (i.e. coaches, officials, administrators, etc.) in your state but narrow down your nominations to one deserving candidate.
State Chapter Award Criteria Assessment High School Excellence Award Chapter Nomination Timeline Continued In the event the committee and the chapter do put forth a different candidate the Stillwater office will instruct the committee to review both candidates again while contacting the chapter as well. Currently, there are only 7 states, that hold women s state tournament, that are eligible to nominate a female for the Tricia Saunders award.
State Chapter Board Makeup and Expectations By-Laws 2.1 Directors The Directors of the Chapter shall consist of officers and directors at large, and shall be known as the Board of Directors. The Directors shall consist of a well-rounded representation of those who support the sport of wrestling and should represent diverse areas of the community. What is the ideal makeup of each board? State Chapter Board Makeup and Expectations By-Laws 2.5 Number and Term of Directors The authorized number of Directors shall not be less than six (6) or more than twelve (12). Each Director shall serve until his or her term has expired, or until he or she resigns or is removed. If a vacancy in the Board occurs by reason of death, resignation or removal, or if a new office is created, such vacancy or new office shall be filled at the next Directors meeting by a majority vote of the Directors. Any Director may be removed from office by a majority vote of the Directors entitled to vote at any regular or special meeting of the Directors, and the vacancy or vacancies created may be filled by a majority vote of the Directors at such meeting. The Directors of the Chapter shall be elected by the Board of Directors at the annual meeting of the Directors for a term of two (2) years. Directors can serve three (3) consecutive terms, for a total of six (6) years. After the third two-year term, the Director must wait two (2) years before being nominated for re-election. When a Director no longer is eligible for election as a Director, the Director may be elected by the Board to the position of Advisory Director and allowed to attend board meetings without being given the power to vote.

The more people involved the more active the chapter can be in continuing the mission of the organization to Preserve, Recognize and Inspire.

Assist the board in achieving its goals and objectives for the benefit of the organization and wrestling. When succession planning the advisory board can play a pivotal role. The out going officers can have the ability to mentor the incoming officers.
