Gifted and Talented Report-Kristi Todd Stillings and Roxi Monlux-This agenda item is a follow-up from the Board workshop. Kristi Todd Stillings and Roxi Monlux will give an update on the gifted and talented program. VI. Career and Technical Education Monitoring Report-Ron Dockter-Ron Dockter will report on the Career and Technical Education monitoring report received by the District. He will also review our responses to the items that need correction. No formal action is required. The minutes will indicate that the Board reviewed the report.

VII. Open Enrollment Applications-The following open enrollment applications were filed before the January 31,, deadline to enter the Dickinson school district during the Fall of. The resident school districts have approved their applications. The names of the students and the school district they will be leaving are listed below: Alyssa Biel, New England School District Alexia Fitterer, New England School District Jaden Van Hoorn, South Heart School District Brandon Dorner, South Heart School District Kaleb Kostelecky, South Heart School District Alex Pool, Belfield School District Tate Tibor, Hebron School District Jodee & Kirsten Root, Richardton Taylor School District The administrative recommendation is to approve the open enrollment applications for students to open enroll into Dickinson under the open enrollment policy. Action is requested. VIII. Early Retirement Incentive Applications-Policy DBJA Early Retirement Incentive was approved by the Board in 1/19/99 and revised 11/17/03. The following educators submitted early retirement incentive applications before the March 1,, deadline. Vince Reep, business manager and personnel director, has verified their eligibility. The administrative recommendation is to approve the early retirement incentive applications. It also provides flexibility as to reductions and alternative staffing. Employees who have submitted early resignation notifications are eligible for a minimum of $200 or $10 per day for all unused sick leave days. This policy applies to both classified and certified employees. The classified employee deadline is April 1, 2004. The administrative recommendation is to approve the early resignation notifications and accept their resignations. Sample motion: I move to approve the early resignation notifications for Jeff Vranna, Pat Riddle, Barb Nelson, Jerry Schwartz,Claudia Joersz, Bonita Ficek, Diane Whiting and Marie Brost and accept their resignation. X. Report on Kindergarten Registration and Enrollment Projections-Vince Reep-Vince Reep will report on the kindergarten registration and other enrollment projections. No action is requested. This item is informational only.

The options will include discussion for fewer elementary teachers and a reduction in elementary administration. Action is requested. Sample Motion: I move to authorize the administration to implement the staffing reconfiguration, as presented. Energy Development Impact Office (EDIO) Grant Application-I will be submitting a grant to the Energy Development Impact Office for air conditioning and air quality issues at Berg Elementary and Hagen Junior High for the amount of $575,000. Action is requested to approve the submittal of the grant. Sample motion: I move to approve the grant application to the Energy Development Impact Office in the amount of $575,000 for air conditioning and air quality issues at Berg Elementary and Hagen Junior High. Legislative Update-Vince Reep and I will give an update on the legislative activity. Technology Expenditures-Chad Uran, Vince Reep and I will report on the status of our District s technology inventory and the financial effort needed to stay current. We will also discuss ongoing issues with supporting the PC and MacIntosh platforms. We will offer suggestions to resolve some of the issues. No action is requested at this time. We are soliciting Board input and direction. Superintendent s Evaluation-Board members completed a superintendent s evaluation form. President Rummel reviewed the evaluations with me. He will summarize the evaluations at the Board meeting. Other Announcements 1. The Chamber of Commerce Education Banquet is scheduled March 15 at 6 p.m. at the Elks.
