Minutes of Regular Council Meeting Page 3 of 3 Mr. Ralph Velez, City Manager, explained that Ms. Sonia Cuello was appointed City Clerk in 2005 and was never given the Oath of Office. When he started working for the City of San Luis, he asked who was the Deputy City Clerk and he was informed there was none. Ms. Melissa Lopez, Deputy City Clerk, obtained her Certified Municipal Clerk certification two weeks ago after three years of schooling; therefore, now the City of San Luis officially has a Deputy City Clerk. Mayor G. Sanchez stated that he is impressed with the hard work both Ms. Cuello and Ms. Lopez dedicate to the City of San Luis. He understands that their job is difficult sometimes, however, with their education, preparedness and discipline the city will continue to grow and become a better place for the community. Mayor G. Sanchez thanked and congratulated Ms. Cuello and Ms. Lopez. 5. Summary of current events by Mayor, Council Members, City Manager, and/or City Staff pursuant to A.R.S. 38-431.02 (K). Council Member M. This is something very good for the City of San Luis, any further information he obtains will be relayed to the City Council. CALL TO THE PUBLIC Mr. Antonio Carrillo, Arizona Western College, invited the City Council and the public present to the Film Festival; this is a wonderful event that will provide publicity for the City of San Luis. He provided information about the Film Festival and a pamphlet to the Mayor and Council describing the different films that will be exposed, which is also in file at the Office of the City Clerk. 6. Adjournment MOTION: Vice Mayor M.A. Pinzon/Council Member J. Harper to adjourn the meeting at approximately 7:26 p.m. Motion passed unanimously.
