GOVERNMENT OF ODISHA FINANCE DEPARTMENT RESOLUTION The 2nd February 2018 SUBJECT Benefit of Compassionate Grant to the police personnel of the State Government who become operational casualties caused by factors such as snake bite, elephant attack, electrocution, malaria, accidents and such other hazards during the course of anti-lwe operations. In Finance Department Resolution No. 17772 Pen.-181/2017-F., dated the 6th June 2017, the benefit of Compassionate Grant has been allowed at revised rate, to different categories of employees who are victims of LWE violence has been made effective from the 1st January 2017. During the course of anti-left Wing Extremist (LWE) operation the police personnel face operational casualties such as snake bite, elephant attack, electrocution, malaria, accidents and such other hazards. After careful consideration of such aspects it has been decided that the benefit of compassionate grant will also be extended to the police personnel who become operational casualties due to factors like snake bite, elephant attack, electrocution, malaria, accidents and such other hazards during and in the course of anti-left Wing Extremist operations.

This order shall come into force with effect from the 1st April 2016. The amount of compassionate grant will be at the rate applicable in accordance with the prevalent Finance Resolution No., that is Finance Department Resolution No. 17772 PEN-181/2017-F., dated the 6th June 2017 from the 1st January 2017 and the concerned Finance Department Resolution for the period from the 1st April 2016 to the 31st December 2016. 4. Relevant provisions of the Orissa Civil Services (Compassionate Grant) Rules, 1964, are deemed to have been modified to that extent specified in forgoing paragraphs.
