Introduction On June 12, 2007, the United States Department of State, Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons issued the 2007 Trafficking in Persons Report (TIP Report). The TIP Report is comprehensive, well drafted and documented. In my opinion, this report constitutes the primary reference and main source of information on efforts made by foreign governments to combat trafficking in persons. The purpose of this review is to analyze the valuable information provided in the TIP Report. The Report is not only a diplomatic tool designed to engage governments in the battle against trafficking. It also serves an educational function, which has been the inspiration for this research. On behalf of The Protection Project, I would like to thank the United States Department of State for recognizing our work on page 23 of the Report, especially in examining the link between child sex tourism and pornography and concluding that 42% of child sex tourism cases are also cases of pornography. We congratulate Ambassador Mark Lagon for being appointed Director of U.S. Department of State Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons and we thank the staff for compiling this useful report. Finally, I would like to thank the staff of The Protection Project, whose work has contributed to the production of this report. In particular, Anna Koppel, Marina Elefante, Sherrie Caltagirone, Janine Hazeleger, Alicia Foley, Juliana Horwath, Elaine Panter, Priti Mehta, Amila Adzemovic, Alicia Alikhani, Lydia Chan, Vanessa De La Ossa, Lindsay Ettl, Elisabeth Hilligoss, Robin Prihar and Emily Tannery.
