Councilman DiPiazza Environmental Commission would like the Council to consider opposing the power plant that Moonachie also just opposed. There is a vacancy on the Environmental Commission. Councilman Amato Mr. Amato reviews Fire Department numbers. Fire Station 3 is having a Halloween party on the 31 st. Leaf collection is going until December 1 st. No branches or twigs are to be included in the leaf piles. Second Chance Toys recycles plastic toys which are cleaned and given to less fortunate children. This is the second year Paramus is working with Second Chance Toys. The Borough acquired two new ambulances which will be in service soon. Mr. Amato reviews Building Department numbers. Councilwoman Bellinger Board of Health is still giving flu shots. On 11/14 the Board of Health is offering blood pressure checks. 10/24 the New Bridge Medical Center is offering a free program regarding the opioid epidemic affecting the youth. Councilman Verile The annual pumpkin hunt is next week. Congratulations to Rescue for having a successful Corvette show at Garden State Plaza. July 4 th Committee is already working on their donation letters for 2019. Councilwoman Weber Substance Abuse and Historic Commissions did not meet this month. Councilwoman Tedesco-Santos Fall cleanup is underway in Parks and borough buildings. Tree planting consists of 331 trees. Ash Tree removal is being done by a private contractor which will begin in the next two weeks. Shade Tree will begin its removals this winter. Ms. Tedesco-Santos reviews the Police Department numbers. Councilwoman Tedesco-Santos wants to add resolutions 18-10-678 and 679 regarding police promotions of Daniel Cullen and Jon Umanzor upon the recommendation of the Chief of Police. Mayor LaBarbiera Thanks the Volunteer Fire Department for their service and the PGA for their donations. Mayor LaBarbiera also thanks the 4 th of July Committee.
