Call to Order/Roll Call @ 3:48 Voting Members: Nicole Dawn Shannon Niki Luz Ryan William Roll from the notes I was given lists only these 11 names but in a vote on action item number one 15 persons voted. 1.1) Approval of the agenda Dawn motions to approve the agenda for November 3 rd 2005 second by Luz. Motion Carries Unanimously Voting Members Needed for Quorum(1/2+1): 7 Voting Members Needed to Pass Budgets/Bylaws(2/3): 7 2.) Approval of the Minutes motions to approve the minutes from October 27 th 2005 second by Dawn. Motion Carries Unanimously II. Public Comments 3 minutes(each) Phil Boutelle Philboutelle@yahoo.com (831) 457-2527 The math department at Cabrillo College has written an objection to the schedule change. Philip would like more time in the future to explain the situation of science and math students at Cabrillo College. Billee Paul College Night is on Monday, November 7 th in the gymnasium; it is a great opportunity to get transfer questions answered. Looking for volunteers for set-up and take-down. Set-up starts at 3pm. There is also a flyer on campus for more information.

Marcy Ellen Craig The transfer lunch will be held to honor the hard work of transfer students before they leave Cabrillo College. This is a follow up to last year s successful transfer breakfast. Requesting funds to put on the event. Students are very thankful for the bus pass refund.

III. President s Report 3 minutes In the future I advise against changing the meeting time. There will be a self-evaluation form next week. Next Friday CalSAC Region 4 meeting at Evergreen College. IV. Review and Vote on Applications for New Senators none this week V. Action 1. Resolution in Favor of Protecting C.C. Funding James/ James motions to adopt a resolution against proposition 76 on the November special election ballot second by. 14 in favor 1 abstention 2.Resolution Against Proposition 76 Motion withdrawn 3.Cabrillo Voting Rally motions to spend no more than $200 from the Programs account to fund a voting rally at Cabrillo College on November 8 th second by Shannon. 4.Thanksgiving Nicole M. Nicole motions to spend no more than $3,000 from the Programs account to fund Thanksgiving dinner event at Watsonville and Aptos campuses second by Dawn. 5.Business Cards Cris Cris motions to reimburse Cris for no more than $400 from the Student Rep account for Business Cards. 6.Picture Funding Lysette Lysette motions to change the account that funds will be withdrawn from to reimburse Lysette for pictures from the Programs account to the Student Rep account second by Dawn. VI. Information 1. Trustee Conference Nicole M. The Trustee Conference will be held at the tt and it is not just for trustees. It will be held from Thursday, November 17 th through Saturday, November 19 th. An advisor is needed for members of the Senate to attend. Confirmation is needed by Monday November 7 th to attend. 2. Democrat Club Conference James The Democrat Club is requesting funding to attend the Young Democrats of America Fall conference in Pheonix, Arizona on December 2 nd and 3 rd. Will be back as an action item next meeting. VII. Event Updates 3 minutes 1. Election Rally will be held at Cabrillo College on November 7 th from 11am until 2pm. 2. James The debate went very well. It was informative and positive. There will be another debate in the Spring.

3. Absentee Polling is available at the county clerk s offices in Watsonville and Santa Cruz. 4. Dawn Due to low turnout, the ski and snowboard sale yielded fewer funds than expected. The sale netted approximately $1,300. 5. College Night is on Monday, November 7 th. 6. The special elections lecture was a good event. Very informative. Hope it is held again in subsequent years. VIII. Committee Reports 3 minutes(each) Ad Hoc Carpool Ryan Instructional Supports There is $10,000 available for grants. All grants are in. It is too late to submit a new grant. Results will be available November 18 th. Thanksgiving Nicole M. Chante has made an excellent flyer and is helping with decorations. James and will be helping with drinks. There will be a toy drive in conjunction with OLA. Black History Month During the four weeks Cabrillo College will be celebrating Black History Month two weeks will be devoted to celebrating the achievements of black women. Also organizing a poetry reading and contacting potential speakers. Internal SAC Nicole M. Budget Legislative Networking and Communications Nicole M. Sweatshirts will be in soon Constitution and By-laws There was a meeting last week and the next meeting will be devoted to making amendments. Watsonville The League of Women voters have said that they will not be putting on a forum for the elections because of expected poor attendance. ICC Dawn

Campus Sustainability Still working on current projects Wireless Internet Cris Currently brainstorming with faculty members and trying to work out the logistics. External Committee Reports Accreditation Committee There will be a meeting in room 4 B Alcohol and Drug Committee James Committee aims to reduce binge drinking in Cabrillo College students. They admit that the previous flyers were misleading and inaccurate and are taking steps to amend them. Physical Resources Accreditation Committee Shannon and attended the meeting on November 1 st and discussed what resources the school had and how to best utilize them. Faculty Senate Committee The math department wants to switch to a 16 weeks schedule opposed to a final week schedule. Curriculum Committee Changing from model transfer program to model program. Cabrillo College will provide a list of required courses for an AA and recommend that students use Assist.org to discover specific transfer requirements for their major. Enrollment Services This committee is looking for a student representative. Construction update: The bridge is being postponed to finish the health and wellness center. Hoping for state bond measure to pass in 2006. IX. Senator Reports 3 minutes(each) James I don t support the 16 week schedule. To conserve funds I think we should limit conference attendance to persons who have not attended a conference before. Also, I think we should give the fish tank to. Please come support the rally. I worked out last night and am now sore. Thanks for the Pictures, Cards, Sweatshirts. I m sorry I couldn t attend the debate. I think we should hold

an event to raise awareness of issues that affect black students during Black History Month. Luz I m glad to be back. Nicole M. Welcome back, Luz. I m sore from working out. My voice is sore. Have a great weekend. I hope the fish don t die. The Billee Paul event planning is coming along well. I d like to have a big band. It will be held November 14 th in the Horticulture Center. My birthday is January 15 th it s going to be neat, please come. I think a cornucopia would be neat for thanksgiving decorations. Ryan Thank you, everyone, for your concern. And thank you,, for your make-up artistry. The Green Festival is this weekend, there will be excellent vegan food. Thanks for passing the resolution. Cris I cleaned the office a little bit.
