The Gilded Age - Immigrants I. During the gilded age the U.S.A. experienced a rapid change in three major ways: A. Industrialization industrial manufacturing B. Urbanization people moving to cities C. Immigration people coming to the USA II. New industrial jobs led millions of immigrants to rush to the U.S.A. seeking new opportunities not available to them in their own countries III. These immigrants desire for employment allowed the industrial expansion and rapid urbanization of the U.S.A.

New immigrants - from southern and eastern Europe beginning in the late 19 th century (not similar to USA) A. Immigrants came mainly from Ireland, Germany & Italy B.
