(c) Community Heritage Ontario - CHOnews Spring 2015 publication Resolution # 3(c)/05/12/15 Harriet Muirhead and Leanne Fetterley BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Heritage Advisory Committee receives the CHOnews Spring 2015 publication. 4. DEPUTATIONS/DELEGATIONS (a) Dan Shilling, First Nation Manager, Administration Evelyn Ball, Assistant First Nation Manager Chippewas of Rama First Nation Re: First Nations at Lake of Bays, Provincial Plaque Application Chair Tapley welcomed Dan Shilling and Evelyn Ball to the Heritage Meeting and introduced those in attendance. Carrie Sykes, Director of Corporate Services gave a brief history of the Provincial Plaque application that was submitted in 2010 to Ontario Heritage Trust. Collin Reaney gave a brief description of the Dorset Community Partnership Group and expressed their support for the Provincial Plaque. Bruce MacLellan gave a brief description of the work the Lake of Bays Page 3 of 7
Heritage Foundation has done and the projects they are working on. He presented Mr. Shilling and Ms. Ball with a copy of his book "Back Again at Lake of Bays" that features our local history as told through antique postcards and noted that his family is willing to fund the application for the plaque. Mr. Shilling and Ms. Ball gave a brief history of First Nations and noted that they need to take this initiative to their Chief and Council for consideration and comment. Committee agreed and Chair Tapley requested any comments or suggested wording regarding the Provincial Plaque application be forwarded to the Deputy Clerk by the end of June. Chair Tapley thanked Mr. Shilling and Ms. Ball for coming to the Heritage Committee Meeting and noted that the Township looks forward to working together. 5. REPORTS (a) Heritage Property Tax Relief Program (Ashibik Cottage - Ingles Property) - HPTR 15-01 Property Roll No.: 010-018-05900 Civic Address: 2 Rock Island Resolution # 5(a)/05/12/15 Leanne Fetterley and Harriet Muirhead BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Heritage Advisory Committee receive the staff report Heritage Property Tax Relief Program (Ashibik Cottage - Ingles Property), Property Roll No.: 010-018-05900, Civic Address: 2 Rock Island, dated May 12th, 2015. AND FURTHER THAT the application for tax relief of a designated heritage property under the Ontario Heritage Act for the preservation, restoration and maintenance of said built heritage located at 2 Rock Island; Concession 4, Part Lot 10, Franklin Ward, under assessment roll number 4427-010-018-05900-0000 be APPROVED. AND FURTHER THAT, the Heritage Advisory Committee for the Township of Lake of Bays hereby recommends that this application be forwarded to the Treasury Department for processing. Page 4 of 7

DISCUSSIONS (a) Heritage Property Tax Relief Program Application Renewals Received: Dukoff - 030-013-01500-1099 Wolfkin Lake Road Resolution # 6(a)/05/12/15 Harriet Muirhead and Leanne Fetterley BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Heritage Advisory Committee of the Corporation of the Township of Lake of Bays approves the Heritage Property Tax Relief Program Renewal for Daniel Dukoff - 1099 Wolfkin Lake Road. (b) Royal Canadiana boat launch - June 28, 2015 Carrie Sykes, Director of Corporate Servics gave a brief history of the Royal Canadiana and the vintage hydroplane boats on Dwight Bay in the 1960's and 1970 s. It was noted that Don Payne, local resident and son of one of the original boat builders Harvey Payne, has rebuilt the Royal Canadiana, taking 6 years to construct. The official boat launch is scheduled for June 28, 2015 at Dwight Beach. Chair Tapley put forward a Motion for the Heritage Advisory Committee to cover some of the Special Events fees for this historic relaunch. Resolution # 6(b)/05/12/15 Leanne Fetterley and Harriet Muirhead BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Heritage Advisory Committee approve paying the Special Event Permit fee ($50.00) and the Liability Insurance ($100-$150) for the Royal Canadiana Boat Launch event taking place on June 28, 2015 at Dwight Beach. (c) Upcoming Introduction to Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Training Session featuring Kelly Brownbill to be held on June 9, 2015 from 2-5 p.m. in the Council Chambers Committee discussed: Changing the venue from the Council Chambers to the Dwight Community Centre Inviting the public school children to attend Page 5 of 7

(e) Heritage Designation Request - Winters Cemetery Con 5, Lot 26, Sinclair Ward Carrie Sykes gave a brief history of the Winters Cemetery and showed pictures from a site visit conducted.
