PRESIDENT S MESSAGE: HELLO TO ALL OF OUR MEMBERS. THE 12 TH ANNUAL LINCOLN/REAGAN DAY BANQUET ON MARCH 18 TH WAS WELL REPRESENTED WITH SIX MEMBERS AND TWO GUESTS ATTENDING AS WELL AS ASSISTING WITH THE EVENT. I WISH TO EXPRESS AGAIN TO THESE MEMBERS HOW MUCH THEIR PARTICIPATION AND WORK IS APPRECIATED. THE LFRW HAS OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED THE SPRING BOARD MEETING AND WORKSHOPS. IT WILL BE HELD ON MAY 20 TO MAY 22. DALE NEALE AND I WILL BE ATTENDING. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN JOINING US, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IS HEATING UP AND I AM SURE YOU ARE PAYING CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE CAMPAIGNING. OUR LEGISLATURE HAS BEEN MEETING TO DETERMINE THE FUTURE OF OUR STATE. WE HAVE AGAIN BEEN INVITED BY OUR REPRESENTATIVE, PAUL HOLLIS, TO BE HIS GUESTS ON MAY 5 TH TO TOUR THE CAPITAL, SIT IN ON PROCEEDINGS, AND HAVE LUNCH. I TRUST THAT MANY OF YOU WILL BE ABLE TO ATTEND. THE SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE IS MEETING TO CHOOSE OUR RECIPIENT. SHE WILL BE INVITED TO OUR APRIL 26 MEETING TO BE INTRODUCED TO YOU AND RECEIVE HER SCHOLARSHIP CERTIFICATE. I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AT OUR APRIL MEETING! LR: Madelon Nohra, Marsha Hall, Dale Neale, Jacki Schneider, Laura Leonard, and Patty Cooper. March 22 BLRW Meeting. Betty Stadler, President Madelon Nohra and speaker Attorney Linda Stadler, who spoke on Second Amendment Rights. 2

Club News: Theresa Marie Ellender is working on stationary for the club and will present samples for members to vote on. State Representative Paul Hollis has again extended an invitation for members of the BLRW to be his guests at the Capitol in Baton Rouge during the Legislative session. We have picked May 5th as the tentative date for this event. We will be able to sit in on morning committee meetings, have lunch with Representative Hollis, and then listen to the General Legislative Session in the afternoon. Please let me know if you would like to attend so we can let Representative Hollis know and for us to make travel arrangements. This will be a general regular session which convenes in even numbered years at noon the second Monday in March. It will last no more than 60 legislative days. No new taxes, tax increases, exemptions, exclusions, deductions, credits, rebates, incentives, or abatements may be introduced or enacted in the Regular Legislative Session.
