Key Qualifications: Peter Tygesen has 25 years' work experience in developing and postconflict states, in mainly civil society, governance and communications issues, in both rural and urban settings. He is especially qualified in issues of civil society support, governance, fragile situations and state building, and has assisted in the design and re-evaluation of country and sector development programmes. In a Danish context, Tygesen has been involved in a string of activities analysing health opportunities and facilitating user-defined health initiatives within the public health administration. In addition, Tygesen has undertaken major research assignments for publication purposes. From Peter Tygesen's recent fieldwork assignments attention might be drawn to the following: Youth and political participation. Design and analysis of results from nation-wide quantitative survey on youth, their livelihood and their political participation in Zimbabwe. Start-up Assessment; Identification of Civil Society Partners for Participatory Early Recovery Programme in Increasingly Vulnerable Situation Malawi for Welthungerhilfe (projects in WASH, basic health, livelyhood, farmer organisations for improved income). Danida desk appraisal: Village-based Primary Health Care project at Lake Tanganyika, phase II, a participatory and advocacy approach to needs alleviation. Danida desk appraisal: Working Children s right to education in Nicaragua; a civil society-driven project.

Review of the Danida Media Support Programme to Zimbabwe. Part of two-member team Formulating Denmark s first Programme for Comprehensive Aid to South Sudan 2011-14. Reviewing Danish Government Strategy for Civil Society/Good Governance support in Zimbabwe. Assessing the consequences and potentials for Civil Society-supported reform and development strategies emerging by the introduction in Zimbabwe of the Inclusive Government. Assessing 30 years of Danish development assistance to Mozambique. Analysing the aid transformation from initially NGO interventions to state aid and the continued interplay between these actors, the cooperation between Danish and local NGOs, the role of civil society in improving governance, and assessing the needs of rural and urban populations and their capability to project these to relevant power structures with an emphasis on projects in agriculture, education and health. Analysing Danish health facilities capability to provide care to unskilled workers work-induced sickness and facilitating two pilot projects for improved integrated care; a participatory and advocacy approach. 6.
