GREEK HONORS AWARD APPLICATIONS SPRING 2019 Awards to be presented at the: SUNY Cortland Leadership Recognition Banquet April 11, 2019 All applications are due no later than 4 pm on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. It is preferred that all applications be submitted electronically. Late applications will not be accepted. Organizational awards are data driven and have no application. Individual awards are open to all members of each fraternal organization. Chapters/colonies not in good standing with either the College or their National are not eligible for consideration for the organizational awards. Individual members of these groups are eligible for consideration for awards so long as they did not have a role in the reason why the group is not in good standing. CHAPTER MEMBER OF THE YEAR AWARD APPLICATION To be eligible for consideration a nominee must have at least a 3.00 cumulative grade point brothers/sisters within an organization can be nominated. Self-nomination is appropriate. Nominee Local Address: Nominee s chapter: 1. Describe how the nominee has personified the values of their fraternal organization and the Greek community in general. 2. Describe how the nominee has had a positive impact on the campus and/or its surrounding community. 3. Is there anything else you would like the committee to consider when making its decision? 4. CHAPTER PRESIDENT OF THE YEAR AWARD APPLICATION To be eligible for consideration a nominee must have at least a 3.00 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and be in good social standing with the College and their chapter/colony and must have held office at some point in the 2018 2019 academic year. The application may include anticipated items through May 2019. Self-nomination is appropriate. Nominee Local Address: Nominee s chapter: 1. In no more than two pages double spaced, explain why this individual is deserving to receive the Greek President of the Year Award and the ways in which the nominee has: a. Made significant contributions to their chapter/colony and the Greek Life community during the current academic year; b. Exemplified the Greek life values of leadership, scholarship, brotherhood/sisterhood, and philanthropy 2.. Is there anything else you would like the committee to consider when making its decision? 3. Please include a resume for the nominee if available. This can only help, not hurt, the nomination

OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD There is no application for this award as it is data driven. Data will be compiled from the submitted Presidents Reports for the academic year to which this award pertains. Starting date will be July 1 st with the final date for consideration being 2 weeks before the College s Student Leadership Banquet. For the 2018 2019 year, that date will be Thursday, March 28, 2019. This award will be granted at the discretion of the Greek Honors Committee. Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity is not eligible for consideration for this award only. OUTSTANDING PHILANTHROPIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARD There is no application for this award as it is data driven. Data will be compiled from the submitted Presidents Reports for the academic year to which this award pertains. Starting date will be July 1 st with the final date for consideration being 2 weeks before the College s Student Leadership Banquet. For the 2018 2019 year, that date will be Thursday, March 28, 2019. This award will be granted at the discretion of the Greek Honors Committee. All fundraising must have been approved by the College s Fundraising Request Committee.
