What is ENSIE? Founded in May 2001, ENSIE is the European Network of Social Integration Enterprises. The network unites: 24 national and/or regional networks of social integration enterprises In 16 EU Member States and in Serbia and Switzerland More than 2,400 enterprises and 378,000 workers. Since 2011, ENSIE is recognised as key EU network in the field of social inclusion by the EC through a three year partnership.

The identifying principles Together with its members, ENSIE has clearly specified what social integration enterprise means through three cumulative principles: The social and professional integration of individuals who due to their exclusion and their relegation to a marginal role in society have fallen victim to increasing social and professional handicaps. Enterprises at the core of the economic system: social integration enterprises have decided to carry on their activities at the very core of what is most frequently a major factor in the phenomenon of exclusion: the economic system. Enterprises of a strong pedagogical dimension. The social integration enterprises initiate training and educational programs designed on the basis of existing potential and develop this individual potential within the enterprise.

Trampolin Solidario (Tenerife, Spain) Trampolin Solidario is a work integration social enterprise aiming to facilitate the social and professional inclusion of people at risk or in exclusion situation through organic agriculture. It was created by a women association Inter-Ven and promotes local and rural development.

ACTIVITIES Production of organic vegetables Marketing of organic fruits and vegetables Conditioning of organic products Training and tailoring on social entrepreneurship and organic agriculture TYPE OF CONTRACTS Springboard employment with fixed term contract of 1 year together with an personalized integration pathway aiming to develop the entrepreneurship idea and organic agriculture.

Trampolin Solidario is a member of Faedei, the national network of work integration social enterprises in Spain. The network gathers about 204 work integration social enterprises offering job contracts from 6 months to 3 years (Spanish law on work integration social enterprises 44/2007) to 5,000 disadvantaged workers.

Since 2009, Faedei has developed together with the Spanish Ministry of Social Economy their Memoria de balance sociales. The project established a methodological analysis of the WISEs experiences, starting from the level of each enterprise to the national level of the federation through the creation of a software measuring their impact. Since then, Faedei publishes each year its Memoria social, presenting the social and economic impact of WISEs in Spain.

Faedei is currently working on a new project on social innovation to be presented under Horizon 2020 programme, together with universities, scientific parks, Ministries of employment and social affairs and other national and European organisations active in the social economy sector. Accesit living lab aims to develop a new matrix to measure the social innovation of WISEs.
