GRAND KNIGHT S REPORT Grand Knight Nick Guarriello reported that 155 walkers took part in the pilgrimage walk from Oregon State University to St. John the Apostle Parish on their way to the Grotto in Portland. The turn-out was much larger than expected. We served a delicious breakfast and finally ran out of pancakes and eggs, and just about everything else. Steak and Bingo on May 19th was very successful. Nick Guarriello hosted a budget committee meeting at his house. The committee did a very thorough job in setting a budget for the upcoming year. We received a number of thank you notes since the last meeting. One from the OSU-Grotto pilgrims, thanking us for their stay at St. John s and for the breakfast. Another thank you came from Gary Avery of the Cemetery Committee for a check that was donated from our April breakfast proceeds. Finally Nick Monte shared a note from Hope 360 for our monthly contribution. Mark Welters reported that communications from Tina at Hope 360 gave us the date of September 15, 2018 for the Walk for Life. Mark suggested that we try to promote the walk as best we can. There will be an essay contest this year as well. And maybe walkers could get pledges. REPORT OF AUDITORS AND TRUSTEES None CHANCELLOR S REPORT OF VOCATIONS None REPORT OF SERVICE PROGRAM COMMITTEES The Budget Committee comprised of Nick Guarriello, Jerry Renfro, Dave Bredemann, Mike Dec and Nick Monte met to prepare a budget for the 2018-2019 fiscal year. It was suggested that the committee ask Mark Welters to see about putting it online for members to view prior the July meeting. A copy of the new budget is attached to these minutes. We would like to vote on the proposed budget at the July meeting. The Scholarship Committee headed by Pat Marcinko is finished with its work. The $1000 scholarship will be awarded to an 8th grader who will be attending La Salle High School. Readers of the essays included Ken Bakondi, Chris Blair, Harry Reed, Nick Guarriello and Jerry Renfro. The title of the essay was, What a Catholic Education Means to Me. Pat Marcinko will reveal the name of the winner at the 8th grade graduation ceremony on June 12 th. Some questions came up regarding who is eligible to win the scholarship. What about students who are home-schooled? What about students who are not financially able to attend St. John the Apostle School? Ken Link might be a person with whom to have a conversation since his children have been home schooled. The Raffle Committee reported that all 350 tickets were sold. That generated $3500. The cost of the three prizes was $1277. That left us a profit of $2223. The Steak & Bingo Committee reported a profit of $1198.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS A $20 check was mailed to the Knights for the April Breakfast. We will add it to the breakfast tally. What a kind gesture.
