Elections Administration BACKGROUND For all county and precinct races, the final canvass is the local canvass. [Section 67.005 of the Texas Election Code ( the Code )] The local canvass for the November 4, 2014 General Election must be held no earlier than the eighth day after the election (Wednesday, November 12, 2014) and no later than the fourteenth day after the election (Tuesday, November 18, 2014). [Sec. 67.003] OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE At least two members of Commissioners Court must be present to canvass the results of the 2014 General Election. LEGAL INFORMATION Canvass of the Election is held per Section 67.003 of the Texas Election Code.
