Mr. Hunt mentioned to the board a change to Item XII Ordinance 15-24 Election in the City of Grain Valley, Missouri on April 5, 2016. Section 4 An election is hereby called for the 5 th day of April, 2016 for the purpose of electing Mayor for a two year term was missing from the original Ordinance that was placed in the e-packet ITEM VI: None PROCLAMATIONS ITEM VII: CITIZEN PARTICIPATION Norm Combs 1008 SW Foxtail Drive Expressed gratitude to the Public Works Department on the great work on Foxtail Drive. Thank you for the Pathway of Honor for the Veterans. Mr. Combs brought up the last Board of Aldermen meeting on October 26 th regarding the discussion of Trail or Treat and the cost of having the event. Mr. Combs states this event is needed for the moral in town. Keeping Disorderly Premises City Attorney Jim Cook read Bill No. B15-22 for its first reading by title only Alderman Arnold moved to accept first reading of Bill No. B15-22 bringing it back for a second reading by title only The Motion was Seconded by Alderman Johnston David Starbuck, Chief of Police described a brief explanation of the ordinance. This ordinance will model what the other surrounding Municipalities already have in. It will also allow the Police Department to document continued problems of all sorts. CITY OF GRAIN VALLEY BOARD OF ALDERMEN MEETING MINUTES Special Session 12/10/2015 PAGE 1 OF 2 ITEM I: CALL TO ORDER The Board of Aldermen of the City of Grain Valley, Missouri, met in Special Session on December 10, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers located at Grain Valley City Hall The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mike Todd ITEM II: ROLL CALL Deputy City Clerk Tami Love called roll Present: Arnold, Headley, Johnston, Palecek, Stanley, West Absent: None -QUORUM PRESENT- ITEM III: DISCUSSION Senior Gift Baskets o Mayor Todd mentioned the reason for holding this meeting is to make a decision on the senior gift baskets this year. There was a consensus on the November 23 rd meeting to hold the 2015 budgeted money of $5,000 for the 2016 budget year. This was due to short staffing and late in the year to get the baskets completed o Several board members discussed with Mayor Todd after the November 23 rd meeting their concerns of letting down the senior citizens and not wanting to sit on the money for the following year if a solution could be found for this fiscal year. o Alderman Johnston mentioned Patricia s is willing to do all the stuffing of the gift bags this year. Patricia s will be using the money that was set aside for the baskets and any money that is donated to make a goody bag for all seniors this year.
