Ellis Ott, native of Bogalusa, Louisiana, was judge of the Twenty-second Judicial District Court, 1930-1936, and judge of the First Circuit Court of Appeals SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE The bulk of the papers, arranged alphabetically by categories and chronologically thereunder, relates to C. Ellis Ott s judgeship of the First Circuit Court of Appeals and consists of abstracts of testimony, correspondence, docket of cases, opinions, reviews, views and notes, and other related items concerning cases appealed and tried. Papers relating to his judgeship of the Twenty-second Judicial District Court consist of opinions. Personal papers concerning home study courses at the University of Chicago consist of lesson assignments and papers submitted in philosophy, government, and psychology.
