ARTICLE I NAME The official name of this organization is Weekend Warriors, hereafter referred to as WW. ARTICLE II - OBJECTIVES Purposes of this organization include: 1.1. To introduce Drexel students to various activities that take advantage of the natural beauty of the outdoor world 1.2. To expand the knowledge and skills of each participant by allowing them to engage in outdoor activities that may otherwise be inaccessible to the average student 1.3. To provide members of the Drexel community with opportunity to bond with one another and discover new interests and skills 1.4. To allow students to take a break from the constant stresses of classes 1.5. To give members of the Drexel community a chance to enhance their college experience, become involved with an organization, and make their experience more rewarding and memorable 1.6. To create competent, responsible leaders with the foresight and dedication for long-term planning as well as the initiative to deal with situations as they emerge 1.7. To expand the faculties of trip leaders to include greater technical mastery of the outdoors and expand the scope of future activities ARTICLE III AFFILIATIONS Membership: 1.1. This organization is affiliated with Drexel as a recognized student organization and as such, agrees to abide by the rules, policies, and procedures of Drexel. ARTICLE IV MEMBERSHIP Membership: 1.1. Weekend Warriors is open to full-time Drexel undergraduate and graduate students regardless of race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or ability. Student Policy: 2.1. As mentioned above, full-time Drexel undergraduate and graduate students regardless of race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or ability are encouraged to attend the club. Section 3. Guest Policy: 3.1. Under no circumstances are any guests allowed to come due to the s Liability ARTICLE V SENIOR LEADERSHIP TEAM (SLT) President and Vice President: 1.1. Directing meetings 1.2. Maintaining long-term strategic objectives 1.3. Leading recruitment and trainings 1.4. Contributing to disciplinary action 1.5. The same duties apply to the Vice President along with any other delegated tasks given from the President. 1.6. Vice President will serve in the absence of the President. 1.7. Tenure: 1.7.1. The Vice President and President will be appointed by the members with a majority vote to approve. To be eligible for the Presidency, candidate must have lead at least three different trips and captained one trip before going into office. The President must also have previously served at least one year on the Senior Leadership Team. Vice President may not be a senior. 1.7.2. Time in office will be one year. Each year a new election will occur. 1.7.3. If President needs to step down from his or her position, the Vice President will succeed the Presidency with a majority vote to approve by the member body. A new vote among the members will elect a new Vice President. 1.7.4. Must be a full-time, enrolled undergraduate student of Drexel Secretary: 2.1. Scheduling meetings and coordinating meeting agenda items 2.2. Booking rooms for meetings and pre-trip meetings 2.3. Creating Meeting Minutes for each meeting 2.4. Keeping a record of Meeting Minutes from each meeting 2.5. Updating calendar with scheduled events 2.6. Maintaining updated documents and forms including: Current Trip Leader Roster Emergency Action Plan (EAP) Wavier Medical Forms Receipts Constitution Drexel Weekend Warriors Constitution Rev 7 3

2.7. Contributing to disciplinary action 2.8. Tenure: 2.8.1. The Secretary is appointed by the members with a majority vote to approve. 2.8.2. Time in office will be one year. Each year a new election will occur. 2.8.3. If Secretary needs to step down from his or her position, a new vote among the members will elect a new Secretary with a majority vote to approve. 2.8.4. Must be a full-time, enrolled undergraduate student of Drexel Section 3. Treasurer and Assistant-Treasurer: 3.1. Managing and recording money received from SAFAC and student records, in a Drexel Account solely used for funding including: Funding received from SAFAC Transportation Costs Location Costs (ski resort, rock climbing, etc.) 3.2. Managing Ticket money and Grant money 3.3. Contributing to disciplinary action 3.4. The same duties apply to the Assistant Treasurer along with any other delegated tasks given from the Treasurer. 3.5. Assistant Treasurer will serve in the absence of the Treasurer. 3.6. Tenure: 3.6.1. The Assistant Treasurer and Treasurer will be appointed by the members with a majority vote to approve. To be eligible for the Treasurer, candidate must have previously served at least one year as Assistant Treasurer. 3.6.2. Time in office will be one year. Each year a new election will occur. 3.6.3. If Treasurer needs to step down from his or her position, the Assistant Treasurer will succeed the Treasurer with a majority vote to approve by the member body. A new vote among the members will elect a new Assistant Treasurer. 3.6.4. Must be a full-time, enrolled undergraduate student of Drexel Section 4. Outreach Officer: 4.1. Communicate with other Outdoors Programs and companies to establish lasting relationships 4.2. Reach out to Outdoor companies who support our mission to establish Brand Ambassadorships 4.3. Research and apply to grants for extra financing 4.4. Encouraging resource-sharing between groups to augment the ability of Weekend Warriors to host outdoor events Drexel Weekend Warriors Constitution Rev 7 4

4.5. Coordinating with other organizations to encourage cross-training and cooperation 4.6. Finding resources off-campus to benefit the club 4.7. Contributing to disciplinary action 4.8. Tenure: 4.8.1. The Outreach Officer is appointed by the members with a majority vote to approve. 4.8.2. Time in office will be one year. Each year a new election will occur. 4.8.3. If the Outreach Officer needs to step down from his or her position, a new vote among the members will elect a new Outreach Officer with a majority vote to approve. 4.8.4. Must be a full-time, enrolled undergraduate student of Drexel Section 5. On Campus Officer: 5.1. Communicating with faculty and student groups to expand Weekend Warrior s network of meaningful connections 5.2. Overseeing projects related to outreach including: Grants & Funding Design Teams WW Paraphernalia 5.3. Oversee and post on our Social Media accounts to keep them up to date with events 5.4. Plan and host all On Campus Events to reach more of the student body 5.5. Tenure: 5.5.1. The Outreach Officer is appointed by the members with a majority vote to approve. 5.5.2. Time in office will be one year. Each year a new election will occur. 5.5.3. If the Outreach Officer needs to step down from his or her position, a new vote among the members will elect a new Outreach Officer with a majority vote to approve. 5.5.4. Must be a full-time, enrolled undergraduate student of Drexel Section 6. Information Technology (IT) Officer: 6.1. Overseeing technology used to modernize and promote club 6.2. Managing online database and drive 6.3. Updating current projects used to benefit the club 6.4. Contributing to disciplinary action 6.5. Tenure: 6.5.1. The IT Officer is appointed by the members with a majority vote to approve. 6.5.2. Time in office will be one year. Each year a new election will occur. Drexel Weekend Warriors Constitution Rev 7 5

6.5.3. If the Information Technology Officer needs to step down from his or her position, a new vote among the members will elect a new IT Officer with a majority vote to approve. 6.5.4. Must be a full-time, enrolled undergraduate student of Drexel Section 7. Impeachment: 7.1. Any official may be stripped of his/her office by a ⅔ majority popular vote. For a vote to be legitimate, the SLT and 60% of the membership must be present. 7.2. If the President is impeached, the Vice-President will succeed the Presidency with a majority vote to approve. 7.3. If the Treasurer is impeached, the Assistant Treasurer will succeed the Treasurer with a majority vote to approve. 7.4. If the Secretary, Outreach Officer, or Information Technology Officer is impeached, an election will be held and a new officer will be elected with a majority vote to approve. Section 8. Appointment and Confirmation: 8.1. Officers will be elected each year during the end of Spring term and serve for one year. 8.2. After candidates submit an intent to run and a speech or video, the members will vote for their new officers through a ballot system. 8.3. A majority vote will select the new SLT members. 8.4. The SLT and 60% of the membership must be present for the vote to be legitimate. ARTICLE VI - TRIP CAPTAINCY Purpose: 1.1. To trip plan and execute a successful outdoor trip 1.2. To manage Trip Leaders assigned to their respective trip 1.3. To provide command authority to allow rapid, flexible response to unexpected developments during the trip. 1.4. To report directly to the SLT in regards to trip progress and act as a point of contact and leadership in all things surrounding the trip. Responsibilities: 2.1. Meeting deadlines required by the logistics of the trip 2.2. Contacting resorts, guide services, and vendors 2.3. Arranging transportation to and from vendors 2.4. 2.5. Ensuring full adherence with liability and risk management guidelines during trip planning and the safety of trip leaders and participants during the entire trip Section 3. Tenure: 3.1. Trip Captains will be chosen for each outdoor trip on a volunteer basis. This position is a temporary position appointed to a Trip Leader for a single trip. 3.2. The Trip Captain s position extends only for the duration of the trip planning, execution, and follow-up cycle. After the trip is fully resolved, the Trip Captain position is dissolved. 3.3. The Trip Captain must be a full-time undergraduate student. The Trip Captain must have been a Trip Leader on at least three trips. ARTICLE VII PROJECT TEAMS Purpose: 1.1. To support and execute Trip Leader ideas 1.2. To act as a committee solving a problem or enhancing the club s objectives 1.3. Projects can include (and not limited to): Accepted Students Day Creating Flyers or Trip Posters Ordering WW gear Filling out Grant Forms Reaching out to other organizations Responsibilities: 2.1. Project Team Leader Duties: 2.1.1. Keeps team on schedule and on task 2.1.2. Plans meetings and discussions on a regular basis 2.1.3. Reports directly to the SLT about progress 2.2. Meeting on a regular basis with team to discuss task progress and divide work 2.3. Keeping an organized record of progress and documents 2.4. Carrying out project until completion or termination 2.5. Seeking more (or less) Trip Leaders when necessary Tenure: 3.1. As a project arises, Project Team Leaders can chose Trip Leader volunteers to help carry out the project. Any Team Leader may create a Project Team when assistance is needed. 3.2. Trip Leaders will be chosen for each project on a volunteer basis. This committee is temporary to assist a project. 3.3. One Project Team Leader will lead the team of Trip Leaders. If the Project Team Leader is not the Trip Leader with the original idea for the project, a Trip Leader can volunteer to be Project Team Leader and will be chosen through the discretion of the SLT. 3.4. The Project Team extends only for the duration of the project. After the project is fully resolved, the team is dissolved. ARTICLE VIII ADVISORS Criteria: 1.1. A full-time faculty, administration, or staff member of Drexel Duties and Responsibilities: 2.1. Have a strong relation with the Office of Campus Activities and Recreational Sports. 2.2. Have basic knowledge as to the hi story, structure, and purpose of the organization 2.3. Be aware of the group s finances and budget, as their approval may be needed for financial transactions 2.4. Provide useful guidance to help the student organization identify and attain its goals 2.5. Be knowledgeable of policies and regulations and civic ordinances, as well as state and federal laws that affect the activity of the organization 2.6. Maintain ongoing contact with club officers ARTICLE IX MEETINGS Notification: 1.1. The Secretary will send out e-mail or text notifications a minimum of four days in advance. 1.2. The e-mails or texts will include: Date and time Location where the meeting will take place Summary of what issues will be discussed If a vote is to take place during the meeting, information about the vote 1.3. For emergency meetings, an urgent e-mail or text will be sent out to club members detailing the problem, a time and location for meeting to resolve the issue When: 2.1. Meetings will be held weekly or bi-weekly, at four or two meetings per month. High or low frequency of meetings is dependent upon the volume of operations and will be expressly announced. 2.2. There will be an annual meeting every term after the last trip of the season during the last week of classes. For this meeting, elections (if needed) will take place, a financial summary will be distributed, and any final business for the term will be attended to. Section 3. Voting: 3.1. For approving, confirming, and impeaching officials and/or other controversial issues, the SLT and 60% of the membership base must be present in order for the vote to be legitimate. 3.2. If an individual for some reason cannot make the meeting, his/her vote may be counted only if it is received by e-mail or text prior to the start of a meeting. 3.3. Voting will be undertaken on each issue via open plebiscite. ARTICLE X FINANCES Finances will be managed at the discretion of the Treasurer with approval from the President. ARTICLE XI HAZING STATEMENT Membership should be a valuable and beneficial experience for all students. Leadership of this organization shall provide its new and current members with an experience that is positive, informative and consistent with federal, state, and local laws, and the policies and procedures of Drexel. Activities which detract from the goal of fostering personal and intellectual development have no place in this organization. Hazing will not be tolerated by or of any member. It is the responsibility of the organization, its leadership and members to report hazing of any kind by members to the proper authority. ARTICLE XII RATIFICATION Ratification Criteria: 1.1. The SLT and 60% of the membership base must be present in order for a vote to be legitimate. 1.2. A majority vote is required to pass. ARTICLE XIII AMENDMENTS Amendment Process: 1.3. If any individual at any time feels the need to make an amendment to the constitution, he/she may do so in an e-mail sent to any member of the SLT. 1.4. That member will bring the amendment suggestion to the next meeting where it will be discussed and voted on. 1.5. The SLT and 60% of the membership base must be present in order for a vote to be legitimate. A majority vote is required to pass. Drexel Weekend Warriors Constitution Rev 7 9

ARTICLE XIV BYLAWS Rules and Regulations for Weekend Warriors: 1.1. All rules and regulations of the resorts, guide services, and vendors will be strictly enforced. Any individual who disregards the rules set forth by the resorts, guide services, and vendors will be suspended for one year from Weekend Warriors trips. The consequences of their actions will be discussed by the disciplinary committee. 1.2. Meetings will be organized and will function in a professional manner. Anyone who inappropriately disregards others opinions, ideas or thoughts will be warned. If it happens again, the consequences of their actions will be discussed by the disciplinary committee. 1.3. For more Bylaws reference the Weekend Warriors Bylaws document ARTICLE XV DISSOLUTION Dissolution must be done so in a meeting. There must be 100% decision by the SLT in order for the majorities vote to be legitimate. Dissolution of the organization may, for cause, be ordered by the Office of Campus Activities.
