To: The Salvation Army and Greater West Hollywood Food Coalition From: Gina Di Domenico Re: Typical Supplies for Homeless Connect Days Date: August 18, 2017 The Salvation Army and Greater West Hollywood Food Coalition are spearheading an outreach day to serve individuals experiencing homelessness on October 4, 2017. I appreciate your ongoing enthusiasm and support of this event, which will be attended by the Homeless Court Citation Clinic staff of the City Attorney s Office. At this outreach event, the Clinic will connect individuals to approved service providers to fulfill community obligation hours rather than asking them to pay fines they cannot afford. In addition, there will be numerous county agencies and non-profit providers in attendance to supply a diverse offering of resources. In response to your request that I inform you of items typically utilized for outreach days and clinic events, I have provided the following list for your reference. I truly appreciate your willingness to contribute resources that will benefit these individuals. As I mentioned, City of Los Angeles ethics rules prohibit us from accepting donations. This list is being provided to you at your request, and as we had agreed, any items you purchase for this homeless outreach day will be solely at your discretion and will be owned by your agency. This list of supplies is crowdsourced from a range of agencies that host outreach events: council district offices, supervisorial district offices, and non-profit service providers. These are only suggestions as the Salvation Army and Greater West Hollywood Food Coalition will have to determine how best to serve their local community of individuals experiencing homelessness.
