Udenrigsudvalget 2017-18 URU Alm.del Bilag 313 Offentligt The 15 th General Meeting of the International Parliamentarians' Coalition for North Korean Refugees and Human Rights 21 st 23 rd November 2018 Seoul, Korea On behalf of the International Parliamentarians Coalition for North Korean Refugees and Human Rights (IPCNKR), it is a great honor and pleasure to invite you to the 15 th General Meeting of IPCNKR. Members of parliaments from all around the world have joined and supported IPCNKR for the purpose of promoting and protecting the human rights of North Koreans in compliance with the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Since its founding in 2003, IPCNKR has held its annual General Meeting. Every year, this organization has provided a platform where parliamentarians around the world convene to make efforts to improve awareness of human rights conditions in North Korea through discussions over refugee and human rights issues, so that they can propose a bill on North Koreans human rights to national parliaments around the world and take a bigger role in protecting North Korean defectors to reveal the true human rights conditions in North Korea and other countries and enhance cooperation with the international community. This year, the 15 th General Meeting is scheduled to be held in Seoul, Korea on 21 st through 23 rd of November 2018. To date, human rights issues in North Korea, protection for international refugees,

and the international community s collective efforts to handle the North s forced abduction of citizens of other countries have been placed on the IPCNKR General Meeting agenda. Indeed, Inter-Korean Summit 2018 and Its Impact on North Korean Human rights will be put on the agenda. During the meeting, we would like to discuss and address such issues and propose ways to make the situation better. We sincerely hope that you will be able to join us and recommend honorable members of parliament who are interested in the issues related to human rights of refugee and North Koreans. Please confirm your delegates who will be attending the conference by 29 th October 2018. We will be delighted to arrange and provide two nights of accommodation during the course of conference from 21 st to 23 rd November for up to three to four delegates representing each parliament. Please note that airfare is not covered by IPCNKR and will have to be borne by delegates.
