Chapter Chapter Title Pages 1 The Study of American Government 2-21 2 The Constitution 23-48 3 Federalism 50-74 4 American Political Culture 76-93 There are some major concepts and charts in Chapter 1 that you need to know as a foundation for the rest of AP Government be sure to pay attention to and understand the chart (to the right) found in Chapter 1 because you will need to know it for Chapters 16 18. Chapters 2 3 should be a pretty good reminder of what you learned in US History last year regarding the Constitution and Federalism. Federalism is a key idea of our American governmental system, but sure to focus on this aspect as it is critical for the later chapters in AP Government. Chapter 4 is a pretty light chapter more focusing on the social aspects of the political culture in the United States. It is not highly tested on the AP Exam but should be interesting to read. A major component of the AP GOVERNMENT EXAM is identifying and understanding vocabulary. Please focus in while doing your vocabulary. Ensure that you understand EACH word and how it applies to American Government.
