Approval of Minutes Ward A. Conference Call 6-30-15: Postponed until next Conference Call. V. New Business Ward 2 min A. Fracking/AHNE involvement: AHNE has reached out to CNSA and offered to write an article for ROM. There is a meeting in Sacramento in September/October period. Two CNSA members are invited to attend meeting. More information to come regarding participants and travel at next conference call. VI. Old Business A. Membership South Update Gardner/Osuna 5 min 1. Reminder: Brenda s presentation All CNSA BOD invited to attend presentation at Membership Meeting South. Registration for Brenda s presentation should be complete this week. Membership Meeting South: BOD should look at presentation assignments and agenda. 70 students participants, with about additional 30 more potential participants attending; looking at approximately 100 members participating. ~8 vendors. Will be an exciting event! BOD Meeting at 1:00pm on August 21, 2015. Dinner after BOD meeting. B. Convention Miller 10 min 1. NSNA field visit Tanya: CNSA has invited Tanya Davis (NSNA Director West) to do a field visit. However, CNSA will not fund her visit, but she is welcome to room with any of the females. Will try to have her attend MMS. Further investigation will need to be made as to what NSNA will cover for their BOD expenses. 2. Awards Due date submissions: Due dates are rapidly approaching; BOD is encouraged to spread the word about CNSA awards to their local chapters and fellow students.
Selection Committee of Scholarships: Includes Executive Board Selection process for awards involves filtering and randomizing submissions through the ACNL/CNSA office in order to eliminate bias. Award application deadlines: September 20, 2015. BOD needs to look at their related CNSA awards to make sure their awards packets are current, changes should be submitted to Thomas by Friday, July 24, 2015. BOD should motivate general members to get them excited about awards and encourage members to apply for them-- especially at MMS. C. Delegate Sustainability Heslop/Ward 5 min 1. Continuing awareness to membership 2. Video submissions: BOD please review packet sent by Michelle. Get people involved and excited about being delegates at convention. Let Michelle know your reason for being a delegate so that no member is stating the same thing on the video. D. Board Continuity Project Gardner/Ward 5 min 1. Clarification 2. Due dates (Please review Membership Director South s Report) E. White Paper Update Linton/Gardner/Osuna 2 min Nessa attended regional meeting in Sacramento. Introduced the Value of Nursing as a salient theme during discussions, now identified as an objective. Thought leader meeting on August 12, 2015 in Ontario. F. Update on You re Hired Brozek 2 min Summer book sales are usually at their lowest points, but are anticipated to go up in August especially at MMS. VII. Officer s Reports A. Vice President Scott 5 min Request for amendment proposals to CNSA Bylaws: Deadline is August 30, 2015. BOD members are encouraged to review their positions in the bylaws and submit proposals as well. Nominations packet: Look over your position details in packet (sent via email from VP) by Saturday, July 25, 2015. Copies will post on website when all are received.
October 1, 2015: Application deadline for pre-slated candidates, which includes photos and information. After this deadline, candidate listings will be placed on Convention App for convention members to view. B. Secretary Treasurer Palmer 5 min Executive Board Meeting: Scheduled for tomorrow (July 22, 2015). Membership dollars are $4,500 to date. However, membership dollars are anticipated to increase after school starts. Reminder: Membership dues have increased since July 1, 2015. VIII. Directors Reports 2 min each 1. Communications Linton July ROM has been reviewed and edited by Brenda and Pat; will make revisions accordingly, and anticipate the issue releasing by end of this week (July 21, 2015). July Email Blast sent to Brenda for review; will be sent to NSNA once ROM publishes. Please review Communication Director s Report for upcoming deadlines. 2. Legislative Bessmertnyy Nurse Practitioner/Midwife Bill has been moved to two-year bill. BRN Sunset Update: BRN will sunrise for two years. 3. Community Health Heslop 4. BTN Byrne Article for August ROM regarding Africa trip submitted. October 8 th, 2015: CPR Hands-On Event Working with CSU Chico for arranging CPR Block Party. 5. Image of Nursing Chair Flores ION Photo Contest on CNSA ION FB Page. BOD encouraged to spread the word. Working on article for August ROM regarding the t-shirt discussion. 6. Cultural Awareness Chair Kanchana (Not Present- See Cultural Awareness Chair s report) IX. Announcements/Miscellaneous Business: Executive Board should discuss donation for Dr. Dianne Moore s memory during meeting tomorrow. Possible White Rose memorial ceremony at Convention.
