United States Senate SENATOR TED CRUZ PO BOX 25400 HOUSTON, TX 77265-5400 PERSONAL BUSINESS OFFICIAL REGISTERED DOCUMENT ENCLOSED NOT PRINTED OR MAILED AT TAXPAYER EXPENSE.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT PR0517A TED CRUZ FOR SENATE 2018 PO BOX 25400 HOUSTON, TX 77265-5400

Dear Fellow Conservative, Senator Ted Cruz The career politicians are about to go ballistic. You see, I just officially introduced legislation (SJR 2) to add a Term Limits Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. If this Term Limits Amendment is enacted, members of the House and Senate could only serve a limited number of terms, and then they would leave Washington and go back home to real jobs. This Amendment would be a huge step towards fixing Washington, which is broken because too many people are treating government as a money-making career instead of public service. The good news is that a HUGE majority of Americans support a Term Limits Amendment. The bad news of course is that power-hungry politicians (and their lobbyist friends) want to continue staying in DC forever, getting more and more power, spending more and more money, while America s problems continue getting worse and worse. So the career politicians and their allies are going to use every trick in the book to bury my Term Limits Amendment. And they want to do it as quietly as possible. That is why it is vital for you to sign and return your enclosed PETITION FOR TERM LIMITS to me immediately. And when you do, please enclose a financial contribution of $1,000, $500, $250, $100, $50, $35 or more if you can. My office will combine your signed PETITION with thousands more from your area and deliver them all to your U.S. Representative. To force a vote on my legislation, there will need to be a massive outpouring from patriotic Americans who are fed-up with politicians whose #1 job is running for re-election when it should be solving our country s problems. Over, please... P.O. Box 25400 H Houston, TX 77265-5400 H www.tedcruz.org Paid for by Ted Cruz for Senate 2018 Not printed or mailed at taxpayer expense.

Page two That effort begins with you. Today. So please sign your PETITION FOR TERM LIMITS and mail it back to me using the envelope I have provided for you. Unless we hammer every single Congressional office with a box of signed PETITIONS, I am afraid the powers that be in Washington will shove this issue on to the back-burner. Because the DC elites do not want the American people to think about this issue. They don t want them to hear the facts: *** The Constitution already limits presidents to two four-year terms. Nobody wants to get rid of that. So why should Congress be treated differently? *** More than a dozen states have term limits for their state legislators, and in recent years the voters there have upheld these laws over and over again in statewide referendums. The people in those states enjoy having true citizen legislators. Why shouldn t everyone else? *** Term limits would reduce the power of the lobbyists and major campaign donors who are responsible for so much of the gridlock and dysfunction in our nation s capital. They could no longer control elected officials, because members of the House and Senate would no longer need to constantly raise money. This is a debate I am anxious to have, because the facts are on our side and so are the people! As I mentioned, Americans overwhelmingly want term limits. Poll after poll shows that 70% to 80% of the people support this. It s extremely rare for any issue to have such popularity. And what s amazing is the support cuts across party lines. It s Republicans. It s Democrats. It s Independents. Because people of all parties realize that Washington is broken and we need to reject business as usual. Last year s election was a huge step forward to finally begin bringing real change to DC, but this needs to go beyond one election. We need to bring lasting change to DC a change that removes power from the federal government and returns it to the people, where it belongs. That s what my Term Limits Amendment will do, so I urge you to please sign your Next page, please...

Page three PETITION and mail it back to me using the envelope I have provided for you. I have only been in Washington a few years, but I can tell you that if you want to restore liberty, conservative principles and ethical governance in our nation s capital, you ve GOT to get rid of this permanent governing class that has sprouted up here and totally dominates the decision-making process in both parties. When I arrived in the Senate back in 2013, my very first fight was to stop ex-president Obama s plot for a nationwide gun registry. Do you know what the long-serving members told me? This is not how it s done here. We need to sit down with the Democrats and cut a deal. (I ended up ignoring their advice. I did not cut a deal, and we won anyway.) When Planned Parenthood executives were caught on tape allegedly negotiating prices for body parts of babies they aborted, I was horrified and moved immediately to shut off their funding. They told me You can t do it that way. Let s try this during the normal appropriations process in two years. When I launched a filibuster to defund ObamaCare because it was obvious that the American people did not want this disastrous government takeover of their health insurance, they said We shouldn t try this it s not how we do business here. I could go on and on, but you get the point: in Washington, the DC elite come first, while the people and your freedom come last. That s got to change, so I hope you will join my effort to push a Term Limits Amendment through Congress we need this bill to pass with large majorities in the House and the Senate so it can go to the states for ratification. We already know what the bill s opponents will say. We already have term limits they are called elections! That s true in theory, but you and I know it hasn t worked out that way. People come here with good intentions, but this town corrupts them. Then this town showers them with huge campaign donations. Then they get redistricted into a safe seat and run unopposed over and over again. It s got to stop. And they only way to stop it is by amending our country s Constitution. So please sign your PETITION FOR TERM LIMITS and mail it back to me Over, please...

Page four today so your Representative knows where you stand. And when you respond, I am also asking you to include one financial donation of $1,000, $500, $250, $100, $50, $35 or more to my re-election campaign, helping me fight off attacks from the DC elites who hate my work on term limits and everything else I have done to defend conservative principles. I ve only been in the Senate for one term, and I am running for one more, but the Washington Cartel of career politicians, lobbyists and Party bosses all want me gone ASAP. So your signed PETITION FOR TERM LIMITS and your donation are important. Not only will you help me pass my Term Limits Amendment, ENDING the life-long taxpayer-funded party career politicians are enjoying in Washington...... you will help me spend one more term in the Senate leading the fights for lower taxes, repealing ObamaCare, confirming conservative Supreme Court justices, protecting our constitutional rights, rebuilding our liberty and much more. So please sign your PETITION FOR TERM LIMITS. Then place it in the return envelope I have provided for you. As I push for a vote on this legislation in Washington, I will combine your PETITION with others from your area and drop them all on the office of your U.S. Representatives. And don t forget your donation of $1,000, $500, $250, $100, $50, $35 or more to Ted Cruz for Senate 2018. The DC elites hate me for pushing term limits and they will spend huge money trying to defeat me. I need your help to fight back and win. For Liberty, Senator Ted Cruz Republican Texas P.S. Career politicians just keep running for office over and over again, they keep spending more money, they keep creating new government programs, the debt goes up and up, but the country s problems get worse and worse. Please help by signing and returning your PETITION FOR TERM LIMITS. And please include a generous campaign gift of $1,000, $500, $250, $100, $50, $35 or more to support me in this effort. Thank you and God bless you!
