African Justice and Business Program July 2015 Widener University Delaware Law School and Potter Anderson & Corroon LLP cordially invite you to the inaugural African Justice and Business Program. The program will take place in Wilmington, Delaware, from 24 August to 27 August 2015. The purpose of the program is to foster discussion between leaders of Delaware s juridical and business community and members of the Liberian bench and bar. Topics include an introduction to Delaware s legal system and the role of an independent judiciary; the Delaware legislative process; litigation and trial practice in state and federal courts; and the judiciary s role in facilitating foreign investment. In addition to Delaware corporate law, course components will address federal bankruptcy practice, securities regulation, intellectual property, and other relevant issues. The program will include opportunities to meet with high-ranking members of the Delaware Law School s corporate and business law faculty, and leaders of the Delaware legal community including a current member of the state Supreme Court, the former Chief Justice of the state, the Delaware Secretary of State s Office, and several other leaders in the judicial, legislative, and executive branches of state and federal government as well as attorneys in private practice.
