Some data has been withheld as it is exempt from disclosure and therefore this response serves as a Refusal Notice under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the Act).

Information and Reasons for Decision I have placed an exemption on information which could lead to the identification of individuals, such as the date of the incident. I have also placed an exemption on other information that if disclosed, would likely prejudice our ability to enforce the law. Exemptions have been applied by virtue of the provisions provided by the following sections of the Act: Section 31(1)(a)(b) - Law enforcement Section 40(2)(3) - Personal information The information requested pertaining to the Notting Hill Carnival is exempt under Section 31(1)(a)(b) as it would contain information which, if released, would be likely to prejudice the ability of the MPS to prevent and detect crime and to apprehend and prosecute offenders. The other requested information is exempt under Section 40 (2)(3) as it contains information which, if released, would likely lead to the identification of individuals which would be in breach of Data Protection legislation.
