100 million Soil Health Cards distributed in first phase On the occasion of World Soil Health Da which is celebrated on 5th December, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Radha Mohan Singh traced the progress of Soil Health Card distribution as well as launched a new app for the benefit of field-level workers. SOIL HEALTH CARDS DISTRIBUTED MARCH 2016-1.47 CR MARCH 2017-6 CR NOV 2017-10.42 CR 100 million SHCs have been distributed in the first phase (2015-17). The SHC app will register sample details at the time of sample collection with location coordinates. Thorough testing of soil samples for 12 parameters including micronutrients. Crop-wise recommendations on correct dosage of nutrients to improve soil health. Increased productivit at low cost of production. National Nutrition Mission to address malnutrition The Union Cabinet chaired b Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved a holistic scheme to ensure adequate nutrition to all with a three ear budget of Rs 9046.17 Crore commencing from 2017-18. National Nutrition Mission is one such initiative which will monitor, supervise, fix targets and guide the nutrition related interventions across the Ministries. The scheme would map various other schemes and monitor them real-time. During a review meeting to reduce under nutrition, the Prime Minister called out for a focused and integrated approach to achieve measurable results b 2022, the 75th anniversar of Independence.
