This year, Carnegie Teens will be challenged to complete ANY 4 of their Bingo Blocks to complete the Summer Reading Program. Teens who have completed the challenge will be entered into the Grand Prize Drawing on July 31st!!! It s simple, come by and grab a BINGO board, put your name, grade you're entering, school and post it on our Reader Wall. Each time you complete a book, come in and fill out an entry form for a weekly prize. Don t forget to write in what Bingo Block you completed, and we ll cross out one of your blocks! Complete 4 and you win!!! Easy Peasy my friends!!! Our Grand Prize Drawing on July 31st will be 4 passes to The Web Extreme Entertainment in West Chester, Ohio!! Teen Events Teen: Channel 3 Tour-Film to Air Wednesday, June 27, 10:00 am Grades: 5-12 Location: 1400 US Route 22 NW-Community Action Meet us at the Community Action building where the Channel 3 studio is located. We will explore what it takes to bring a segment from film to air. Channel 3's very own David Woolever will play host, as we discover the the inner-workings of our beloved Channel 3! Kids & Teen: Hogwarts Escape Room Monday, July 30, 3:00 pm Grades: 3-6 Tuesday, July 31, 3:00 pm Grades: 7-12 Celebrate 20 years of Harry Potter! We'll lock you in "Hogwarts Castle"! Children's Events: Discovery Camp Events Hosted by Fayette Soil & Water and Carnegie Library. Reading Challenge Kids & Parents: Decide how many books to read this summer. If reading goals are met,kids will receive a certificate of completion and coupon prizes. Teens are invited to take part in the Bingo Challenge as described on the front page. Throughout the summer there will be opportunities to enter weekly drawings for area parks and local activities. We have planned many free events for all ages, from Story Times to Field Trips. Come take part in our Summer Adventure! Weekly Story Times Preschool Discovery Camp Ages: 3-5 yrs. Tuesday, June 19, 10:30 am Location: Meet at Shaw Wetlands on Robinson Rd Our regular Story Time is moving outdoors and going wild. We will read and sing, and tour the wetland looking at nature. Please pack a sack lunch, and wear sunscreen and appropriate clothes and shoes for mud and water. Siblings are welcome at any of our story times. Carnegie Youth Garden Enjoy the Carnegie Gardens this summer. Our six beds were planted in May, at a children's program. They will be maintained throughout the summer, by the Preschool Story Time, Books & Blocks and Older youth. Volunteers are welcome. If you would like to help, please ask a children's department librarian what needs done that day! Note: Kids K-2 must be accompanied an adult. Kids grades 3 & Up must have a signed permission slip to attend. Permission slips can be obtained from the Library or Fayette SWCD. Transportation will be provided to and from the event(with a parent or signed permission slip). Chris Rolands, a singer/musician and naturalist, will entertain us with his original songs about environmental issues and animals. A light dinner will be provided after the show.
