Ride Times will be posted on Facebook. Refunds for Entries withdrawn prior to the Closing Date with Vet/Medical Certificate less $10. Stalls Available at $25 each. Reservations should be made and fees remitted with Entries. Haul In/Grounds Fee of $15 per horse on grounds, for any horse on grounds not getting stall. Bedding not included. Shavings Available on the grounds from vendor for $6 per bag. You may bring your own. In making your decision to haul in or reserve a stall, remember the State Fair is a busy, active show grounds. Forms to Include with Entries: *Coggins dated within Twelve Months of Show Date. Copy should be included. *Entry Form and Check for Entries and Stalls Made Payable to NE-VADA *Signed NE-VADA Waiver Statement on Entry blank. *Meadow Event Park Participation Agreement A Separate Entry Form is required for each horse and rider combination. Please write legibly and fill in the entry form completely. CLASSES: Classes may be split between Senior and Junior riders, if entries warrant. Musical Rides (Individual and Group): Music should be on CD. All music submissions should be brought to show office by 10:00 a.m. **Any special requests/tack changes required between musical exhibitions and dressage competition should be annotated on entry form. We will try to accommodate where possible. **The Entry which includes the Quadrille and Pas De Deux riders should complete the form for riders/horses/level ridden to facilitate scheduling. Exhibitor Passes: 1-2 horses entered per exhibitor 2 passes. The passes allow you to enter the Fair without payment. Passes will be on Will Call at the Gate by the Stable area. Where time allows, passes will be mailed. Arrival and Departure: No arrivals before 8 a.m. Exhibitors should exit show grounds by 8 p.m. Liability: Upon submission of entry blank, exhibitor releases and waives all rights against the North East Virginia Dressage Association (NE-VADA) and its officers, directors, or representatives, the State Fair of Virginia (Commonwealth Fairs and Events) and its officers, directors, employees, agents or representatives, and the management of this show, for death, personal injury or property damage and waives the right to sue or to bring action against North East Virginia Dressage Association (NE-VADA) or the State Fair of Virginia (Commonwealth Fairs or Events) for any loss or damage which is in any way connected with the risks involved in an equine activity. NORTH EAST VIRGINIA DRESSAGE ASSOCIATION (NE-VADA) RELEASE WAIVER The undersigned participant, and his/her parent or legal guardian, if the participant is under the age of 18 years, does hereby execute this release, waiver, and indemnification for himself/herself/themselves and his/her/their heirs, successors, representatives, and assigns and,; thereby, agree(s) and represents as follows: If involved in equine activities pursuant to Section 3.1-796.132 amended of the Code of Virginia, the undersigned(s) execute(s) this waiver of the undersigned(s) rights to sue and agree(s) to assume all risks resulting from the intrinsic dangers of equine activities. ( Intrinsic dangers of equine activities is defined as those dangers or conditions that are an integral part of equine activities, including, but not limited to, (i) the propensity of equines to behave in ways that may result in injury, harm, or death, to persons on or around them; (ii) the unpredictability of an equine s reaction to such things as sounds, sudden movement, and unfamiliar objects, persons, or other animals; (iii) certain hazards such as surface and subsurface conditions; (iv) collisions with other animals or objects; and (v) the potential of a participant acting in a negligent manner that may contribute to injury to the participant or others, such as failing to maintain control over the equine or non-acting within the participant s ability.) To release the Northeast Virginia Dressage Association, its members, agents, volunteers, representatives, and those other organizations affiliated with this activity, and hold them harmless from any and all liability, loss, damage, costs, claims, judgments, settlements and/or causes of action, including but not limited to all bodily injuries and property damage arising out of participation in the activity, which may be brought or entered against them as a result of the undersigned persons participation in equine activity, it being specifically understood that said activity includes the handling of equine by the undersigned participant. This waiver shall remain valid unless expressly revoked by the participant or Parent or guardian of a minor. The revocation shall be in writing which shall be delivered to the provider and shall become effective thirty (30) days after delivery to the provider. The undersigned(s) should maintain all medical and health insurance needed to cover all risks of any kind in any place in livestock, equine, and/or other activities. I, the undersigned participant, will wear and use all safety equipment and ensure such equipment is in good condition at all times. PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISKS THIS IS A LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT. THIS DOCUMENT PROVIDES THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH YOU WILL BE GRANTED PERMISSION TO PARTICIPATE IN CERTAIN EVENTS. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. Agreement: I desire to participate in one or more equine and/or agricultural and livestock events ( Events ) at the State Fair of Virginia, which is owned and/or operated by Commonwealth Fairs & Events, Inc. and/or State Fair of Virginia, Inc. (collectively, State Fair of Virginia ). I understand that my participation in the Events is conditioned upon my agreement to the terms and conditions set forth herein, and I further understand that my agreement to these terms (along with any entrance fee charged for my participation in the Events) is intended to act as legal consideration for my participation in the Events. I further understand that my execution of this Participation Agreement and Acknowledgement of Risks ( Agreement ) is voluntary, and if I choose not to execute this Agreement, I will not be allowed to participate in the Events. Definitions: The Events covered by this Agreement include, but may not be limited to: the 1 st Virginia CMSA; ; Draft Horse/Mule Show and Pull; Miniature Horse Show; Dressage Show & Demos; Roping, Youth Barrel Race; True Grit Ranch Rodeo; 4-H Drill Competition; 4-H Ranch Horse Show; 4-H Fun Show & High School Rodeo. Acknowledgment of Risks: I am aware and acknowledge that participation in these Events poses potential serious risks of injury or death to participants, and I am aware of the inherent dangers of equine sports and/or activities involving livestock. These risks include, but are not limited to: risks involved in riding (such as falling or being thrown from a horse) or dealing in close proximity with large animals (such as colliding with an animal or being trampled, stepped on or bitten); risks of failure or misuse of equipment such as saddles, riding gear, fences, jumps, rifles, trailers, and other items; risks associated with the facilities and property upon which the Events are held, such as uneven land, debris, holes, mud, weather conditions, and/or improperly designed, maintained or repaired fences, gates, jumps, etc.; and the risk that another participant might act in a negligent manner that may contribute to cause an injury to me. I understand that this list is illustrative, not exhaustive, and that various other risks are inherent in the Events in which I am going to be engaged. I understand that I may be injured or die as a result of my own negligence, the negligence of others, or through no fault of myself or anyone else, because of the nature of the Events in which I am going to be engaged. Accordingly, I knowingly and freely assume all risks, including but not limited to the risk of bodily injury, death or property damage, both known and unknown, associated with my participation in the Events and my use of facilities and equipment owned, operated, maintained or provided by the State Fair of Virginia. I assume full responsibility for my participation in the Events and my use of such facilities and equipment. Compliance with Rules: I agree to comply with all rules, requirements, and regulations of the State Fair of Virginia as well as all requests and instructions of all State Fair of Virginia personnel. I agree to use reasonable judgment while participating in the Events to ensure my own safety and the safety of those around me, and I agree not to participate in any Events while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Release: I, for myself, my spouse, my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, do hereby forever discharge, release, indemnify and hold harmless the State Fair of Virginia and all of its affiliates, subsidiaries, sponsors, contractors, licensees, employees, agents and representatives, from any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, actions, suits and/or proceedings, whether sounding in tort or contract, whatever kind or nature, whether present, future, known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen (including, but not limited to, claims for personal injury, death, disability, and property damage), relating to, arising out of or regarding or as a result of my participation in the Events, or in any activity sponsored by the State Fair of Virginia, regardless of whether the act or omission complained of was caused in whole or in part by my own acts or omissions, the acts or omissions of any third parties, and/or by the acts or omissions of the State Fair of Virginia, or its agents, to the fullest extent permitted by law. I further release the State Fair of Virginia from any claim whatsoever on account of medical treatment or service rendered me during my participation in the Events and/or my use of the State Fair of Virginia s facilities and/or equipment. Right to Use Image: I grant the State Fair of Virginia permission to use my photographs, video images and/or quotes in any State Fair of Virginia publicity pieces. Publicity pieces include (but are not limited to) news releases, videos, publications, displays, newsletters, brochures, and internet use. All proprietary rights to the aforementioned media belong exclusively to the State Fair of Virginia.

Duration: This Agreement shall expire upon the completion of my participation in the Events. However, the acknowledgement of risks and release provisions in this Agreement shall remain valid and enforceable for a period of five years after the completion of my participation in the Events. Governing Law and Venue: I further agree that any litigation arising out of my participation in the Events shall be decided under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and such litigation shall be brought in the Circuit Court for Caroline County, Virginia. Voluntary Execution and Severability: I have carefully read this Agreement, fully understand its terms and conditions, understand that the terms and conditions are contractual and not a mere recital, that my execution of this Agreement is consideration for and a prerequisite to my participation in the Events, that I have given up substantial rights by signing it, and I sign this Agreement freely and voluntarily as my own free act without inducement. In case any one or more of the provisions contained in this agreement shall, for any reason, be held to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable in any respect, the invalidity, illegality or unenforceability, shall not affect any other provisions of this agreement, and this agreement shall be curtailed, limited or eliminated only to the extent necessary to remove the invalidity, illegality or unenforceability.
