Global corporations across the world need legal guidance for execution of various corporate affairs such as collaborations, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, technology transfers, patents & intellectual property rights, labor law etc. and what makes it stand apart is the inclusion of techno-legal programs such as LLM with specialization in Energy Law and several specialized programs including Computer Science & Engineering, with specialization in Cyber Law which is a field of prime importance in the future. BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES OF WORKSHOP Crime is an act against the state, against the society at large. Generally speaking, it is an action or omission which is punishable by law. Thus crimes are public wrongs which are deemed injurious to the public welfare or morals or to the interests of the state and are legally prohibited. The present litigation workshop aims to address the fundamental as well as contemporary issues of substantive and procedural criminal law. Law and order is the prime responsibility

of the state and the Criminal Justice system of the state involves various functionaries in the performance of the same. This Workshop is a platform to deliberate upon and discuss the various issues and challenges in the administration of the Criminal Justice System. The participants will be exposed to the core concepts of Criminal Law and the application of same in the Courts. Various aspects of the Substantive and Procedural criminal laws, Crimes against women, Cyber Crimes, Drug Addiction and Drug abuse and other contemporary issues in Criminal Law would be discussed in the Workshop. Further, it would bring together academicians, professionals and students on a common platform in the field of Criminal Law Litigation. THEMES FOR THE 3RD NATIONAL LITIGATION WORKSHOP For five days the keynote speakers & resourse personnel will deliver on following by focusing on the practice, procedure, compliance, issues and suggestions for better implementation of the legal provisions in India with regard it to the following :. 1. Substantive Criminal Law 2. Procedural Law/Criminal Procedure 3. (a) Drug Addiction and Drug Abuse (b) Prevention of Crimes against Women & Children 4. Cyber Crimes 5. Contemporary Issues & Challenges in Criminal Law PREVIOUS WORKSHOPS 1st National Litigation Workshop : The 1st National Litigation workshop was organize to facilitate the understanding of Adjudication, practice and procedure of Constitutional law and was held on 4th November, 2015. The purpose of this workshop was to focus on different dimensions of Constitutional law in practice and procedure. It aimed towards creating an understanding of the procedural application of 'the law of the land' towards different upcoming issues. Prof. (Dr.) Krishan Mahajan, Professor of Law and Additional Registrar at The Supreme Court of India (Research, Training and Reforms); Mr. Riju Raj Jamwal, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India & Dr. Z.M. Nomani, Professor of Law, Dept. of Law, Aligarh Muslim University were the keynote speakers at the workshop. 2nd International Litigation Workshop : The 2nd International Litigation Workshop was held on 4th November, 2015 in order to look into the understanding of Practice and Procedure of Comparative Public Law. The purpose of this workshop was to focus on different dimensions of Comparative Public Law in practice and procedure. The idea of the workshop was to provide an interface between comparative public law and litigation. The speakers focused on the practice and procedure of Legal Provisions of different countries, including India. The broad themes for the workshop were: Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Criminal law & Procedural Law. Mr. Saleem Marsoof, Hon'ble Chief Justice of The Supreme Court of Sri Lanka was the keynote speaker at the Workshop.
