In particular, he/she will: Direct the Procurement Division (ADM/PRO) and manage its staff, budget and logistics, interacting with all UNESCO sectors and services; Provide strategic decision-making support to ADG/ADM on any issues concerning procurement, contracting and equipment maintenance; Draft UNESCO policy and strategies on procurement, contracting and equipment maintenance, and monitor their implementation, ensuring compliance with established guidelines; Qualifications and experience University degree in business administration, commerce, technology, engineering, law or other fields relating to procurement/contracting; Extensive international experience (at least 15 years) in the field of international purchasing and contracting, preferably in the United Nations system or similar public organization, with a progressive increase in responsibilities; Proven positive record (at least 5 years) of managing largescale international procurement projects, preferably Ensure the provision of quality procurement services as well as advice, methodological support and training on procurement, contracting and equipment maintenance to all units of the Secretariat, both at Headquarters and in the field, and to UNESCO s partners involved in project implementation, as well as substantive support for outsourcing activities; Promote and oversee the introduction of modern procurement management tools and propose necessary improvements in related administrative procedures and processes; Represent UNESCO on procurement issues within the United Nations system. in the field of education, science, culture or communication.
