Summer School 2016 Who are we in Europe? Challenges and Perspectives of the European Community of Values Source: youthvoice.network-together.com The objective of the course is to provide a comprehensive overview of the main contemporary European challenges with a particular relevance for the Baltic region. The issues of Common Foreign and Security Policy, energy policy or European Asylum System will be debated against the background of the so-called European identity: Do these policies mirror the EU s formal commitment to a set of common European values such as democracy, peace, individual freedom and human rights or are they driven by mere economic and political interests of its member-states? Are there values shared by all EU-citizens? What do Europeans have in common? What is the future of European integration? For those interested in European politics the Summer School offers a unique opportunity to discuss these essential questions with experts and political actors in an open and international setting.
