EL MONTE, CA Former Assemblymember and Educator Mike Eng today won an additional major endorsement in his race for the 22 nd State Senate District, this time that of Equality California. Mike Eng s record in the fight for LGBTQ rights speaks for itself, stated Rick Zbur, Executive Director of Equality California. In the California Assembly, Eng had a 100% pro-equality voting record and clearly established himself as a strong ally to the LGBTQ community with his work to prevent bullying in our schools and to improve the safety of LGBTQ students. In 2008, as a member of the Assembly, Eng came out strongly against Proposition 8 and partnered with API Equality Los Angeles to mobilize the Asian Pacific Islander communities and others to support marriage equality.
