Occupational Safety and Health (Fees and Registration) Regulations 2007 GN 123/2007 THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ACT Regulations made by the Minister under section 100(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 2005 1. These regulations may be cited as the Occupational Safety and Health (Fees and Registration) Regulations 2007. 2. In these regulations "Act" means the Occupational Safety and Health Act 2005. 3. The fees payable for the purposes mentioned below under the relevant sections of the Act shall be as follows PART I Payment of Fees Purpose Section Fee Payable Rs (a) (i) For the first registration as a Safety and Health Officer.. 29(2) 550 (ii) For any registration thereafter. 29(4) 330 (b) For the consideration of every application for registration (i) as boiler inspector 33(2)(a) 8,000 for a steam boiler and steam receiver (ii) as machinery inspector 33(6) 7,000 in respect of each of the following (a) cranes and other lifting machines; (b) vehicle lifts; (c) hoists and lifts; (d) escalators; (e) air receivers; and (f) refrigeration plants (c) For registration as a boiler inspector 33(5) 550 (d) For registration as a machinery inspector. 33(6) 550 per machinery (e) For the first registration or registration of a steam boiler. 55(2) 1,650 (f) For the issue of a fire certificate where the premises is - 76(4)(b) (i) up to 2,000 square metres.. 1,100 (ii) above 2,000 square metres 1,650 (g) For a permit to build a factory or a building appurtenant to a factory 87(2)(a) 1,650 (h) For the issue, or renewal, of a certificate of registration of a factory, for a period not exceeding 12 months, where the number of persons - 88(5) (i) is up to 50.. 550 (ii) exceeds 50 up to 100.. 1,100 (iii) exceeds 100 up to 500. 2,750 (iv) exceeds 500 up to 1000.. 3,850 (v) exceeds 1000. 5,500 Amended by [GN No. 63 of 2011]; [GN No. 219 of 2012]; [GN No. 64 of 2014]

4. The fees set out in regulation 3 shall be deemed to include the surcharges imposed by Finance Acts 1980 and 1981. PART II Registration of Boilers, Factories, etc. 5. (a) (i) The notification to be given to the Permanent Secretary under section 55 of the Act by the owner of a steam boiler for the purposes of the first registration or registration shall be in the form set out in the first Schedule and there shall be annexed thereto a photostat copy of the Manufacturer's Data Report and such other relevant information or document as may be required. (ii) The original of any document or report specified in the preceding subparagraph shall be produced to the Permanent Secretary if so requested by him, before the registration is effected. 6. The factory building permit to be granted by the Permanent Secretary in pursuance of section 87 (2) of the Act shall be as set out in the Second Schedule. 7. The certificate of registration of a factory to be issued by the Permanent Secretary in pursuance of section 88(5) of the Act shall be as set out in the Third Schedule. 8. Every person, to whom subsection 4 or 8 of section 76 of the Act applies, shall - (a) in his written application or notification, as the case may be, to the Fire Services include the particulars specified in the Fourth Schedule to these regulations; and (b) furnish such number of copies of any drawing, plan, document or other information as may be required by the Fire Services. 9. These regulations shall come into operation on 01 September 2007. Made by the Minister on 29 August 2007.

FOURTH SCHEDULE (Regulation 8) Particulars to be included in an application for a fire certificate - 1. Name and address of the applicant. 2. Address of the building or the place of work in respect of which the application is made. 3. Name and address of the owner of the building of which the place of work forms part. 4. Nature of the activity carried on, or to be carried on, on the premises. 5. Nature and approximate quantities of any explosive or highly flammable substance kept, or to be kept, on the premises. 6. Maximum number of persons expected to be on the premises of the place of work at any one time. 7. Maximum number of persons expected to be in the building of which the place of work forms part at any one time.
