TODD COUNTY HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES Minutes of the Meeting of the Health & Human Services Meeting August 26, 2014 Call to Order The Todd County Board of Commissioners met in the Todd County Historic Courthouse in the City of Long Prairie MN on the 26 th day of August, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. with all members present. The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Approval of Agenda On motion by Neumann and second by Erickson, the following motion was introduced and adopted by unanimous vote: To approve the agenda as presented. Approval of Minutes On motion by Erickson and second by Becker, the following motion was introduced and adopted by unanimous vote: To approve the July 22, 2014 minutes as read. General New Employees were introduced to the Commissioners: Tonya Danielson, HHS Office Support Specialist and Jen Nelson, Intern for Health & Human Services. On motion by Kircher and second by Erickson, the following motion was introduced and adopted by unanimous vote: To approve applying for the Healthy Housing Grant. Emily Steinert, Family Services Unit Manager was present and reported to the Commissioners on the Northstar Care for Children. The Department of Human Services is implementing a new program to equalize payments for foster care, relative custody assistance and subsidized adoptions for children entering permanency who are six years of age or older. Northstar Care for Children will begin effective January 1, 2015. This will require staff training for the use of a new assessment tool and payment calculations. Implementing the program will also change the placement reimbursement process to counties. Jackie Och, HHS Director reported on the Health & Human Services Booth at the Todd County Fair. She felt this was a success and a lot of information was available for the public. Jackie also announced the Health & Human Services Open house will be tonight 8/26/2014 from 4:30 6:00 pm. There will be tours through the newly remodeled facility and managers available for questions. Social Services Fund Warrants On a motion by Neumann and second by Kircher the following motion was approved by unanimous vote: To recommend to the County Board the approval of all claims as presented on the Integrated and Disbursements Audit List for the Board on record at the Social Service Office, Courthouse Annex, representing claims in the amount of $154,824.02. In reviewing the 2014 Fee Schedule with the Morrison County, Interim Public Health Director it was suggested to align the Morrison and Todd County Environmental Fee Schedules. Morrison County is requesting to increase the Sanitarian contracted rate from $44.00/hour to $45.00/hour. With the 2015 proposed increase in fee schedules along with the increase of the Sanitarian contracted rate the Environmental Program will remain budget positive for Todd County.
