The Telling the World about Topeka Lions Vol. 81 Published January 6, 2009 Number 27 Next Meeting: January 11, 2010 Meeting Place: Top of the Tower 12:00 p.m. Jan. 11 Russ Cobb, Westar Energy Business Manager will talk about Energy Interdependence and the Future. Lion Spencer Smith will introduce the speaker. Our guest speaker will be Vincent Harris. Vincent was unable to attend the meeting. In his place, we heard from our own Lion Van Chang. He talked about his life in China and his travels from there to here. It was a very interesting 20 minutes autobiography of our Lion. Lion Dick Pratt clarified the eyeglass pickup credited to him. He picks up eyeglasses collected by the Kansas Department of SRS and Kansas Department of Aging at their offices located at 503 Kansas Ave. Thank you, Lion Dick. Lions Spencer and Barbara Smith cleaned the Shunga Trail in late December on one of the few days there was no snow. They picked up roughly 4 bags of trash. Lon Bill Martin was the lucky winner of the free lunch. The Public Information Committee will be meeting this Friday at 11:45 a.m. at Aldersgate Village. Chairman Menninger will meet anyone coming at the front entrance. He will be at the entrance until noon. Part of the agenda will be a discussion of the new Kansas Lions PR poster program.
