CALL TO ORDER The Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. on December 5, 2016 by Chief Jeff Ingertson 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - Chief Jeff Ingertson led the Pledge of Allegiance 3. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OF November 10, 2016: No action since the minutes had not been prepared due to computer malfunction. 4. Correspondence - The organization received the following correspondence for this meeting: a. VERBAL via Maria Untalan: Elmo Long spoke with her on 12/9/2016 concerning a Potential $1000.00 future donation. b. The organization has been invited to participate in the official grand opening of the hanging scaffold in the Tombstone Courthouse courtyard on January 14, 2017. The event will include members of the press, the state judicial system, and local county and state VIP s. A mock trial for the Bisbee Massacre will be held in the courtroom, followed by a mock hanging (not necessarily conducted by the Vigilantes). 5. FINANCIAL REPORT of November, 2016 Treasurer Sue Simons reviewed the profit and loss statements for November 2016 as well as total earnings and losses for year to date. MOTION by Pat Kelly and SECOND by Don Mott to accept the financial report as presented subject to the required audit from the month of November, 2016 6. REPORTS OF COMMITTEES & CHAIRS: a. Sergeant-at Arms - Mark Gurvitz said: Active Members 11; Active Life Members 12; Inactive Members -0; Inactive Life Members -0, Wooden Badges 1 members and guests in attendance b. Hangings Doug Stidivent: said 1. There is a possible hanging on Jan 7, 2017 for Nick in a dog group - awaiting his return call. 2. A hanging has been requested by the VFW in Serra Vista - Feb 1, 2017 at 7pm.
3. A hanging has been requested for the Red Hat Ladies at the Longhorn Restaurant in Tombstone - April 7, 2017 at 6pm 4. An invitation from the Tombstone Chamber of Commerce has been received for the Vigilantes participation in a reenactment of the Bisbee Massacre Trial and hanging** at the Tombstone Courthouse to dedicate the newly restored hanging scaffold in the courthouse court yard. This is not our event, but we are invited to participate. ** The Bisbee massacre, also known as the Bisbee murders, or the Bisbee raid, occurred on December 8, 1883, in Bisbee, Arizona, when a gang of bandits robbed a general store and killed four people. Five men were later convicted and executed on March 28, 1884 for the crime. They were the first criminals to be legally hanged in Tombstone, then the county seat. 5. The Techmer PM Corp. s national conference to be held on April 24, 2017 between 4:30-10pm at the Tubac Golf Resort has requested a hanging. This one has not really been decided to do yet pending having enough actors. Doug will send an email out before 31 December for final yea or nay decision. (The Tubac Golf Resort is 88 miles and 1 hour, 40 minutes from Tombstone; and approximately the same distance and time from Sierra Vista, both via AZ 83 and 82. It is 47 minutes from Tucson via I-19) c. Show Director Maria Untalan: Reminder of upcoming show on December 11, 2016. Maria Untalan and Joe Untalan will not be there. Lorelei Redmond will serve as show Director. d. Parades Doug Stidivent: gave a special thank you to everyone who marched in the 2016 Annual Douglas Light Parade in Saturday November 26, 2016 and said the entire participating group brought a lot of cheer and wonderment to all the spectators. He thanked the ladies for showing up in their beautiful lighted gowns as well as the cowboys who marched with Their guns a-blazing. e. Membership Gary Spessard: said the organization has 17 active members, 17 active life members, 2 wooden badge members, 29 associate members, 10 inactive members, and 48 inactive life members for a total of 122 members. f. Publicity Doug Stidivent: No report g. Good, Morale, & Welfare: Keep Jeff Miller in our thoughts and prayers as he recovers from his recent medical procedures. Ruth Bader s husband is home. Ben Byrd asked members to let people know that we are collecting anything pertinent to the history of the Vigilantes organization for addition to the archival collection documenting the organization s history. h. Tombstone Vigilettes - Sue Simons: said that the Vigilettes Tory Drive is ongoing until December 17, 2016

OLD BUSINESS: MOTION FOR DISCUSSION AND/OR ACTION on the organization s filming at the Tombstone Monument Guest Ranch Frank Cara will show the film after the street shows on Sunday, December 11, 2016. MOTION FOR DISCUSSION AND/OR ACTION on the organization s participation in the 2016 Fort Huachuca Tour of Homes on Saturday, December 10, 2016. Tour times are 12:00 noon to 4:PM A signup sheet has been initiated and circulated for participation in the 2016 Annual Fort Huachuca Tour of Homes Saturday, December 10, 2016. Arrival and departure times are 11:00 am and 5:00 pm. With 15 to 20 people needed to act as tour guides to assist guests with directions and provide needed information. The signup sheet will be used as an access list for entry onto the installation. Participating members will meet at Brown Parade Field for assignment to participating homes. Members will then proceed to their assigned homes for the duration of the event. Bill Cussins stated that entry will be through the Van Deman Gate. He will be at the gate at 10:15 am and will have space for 6 participants if needed. If participants names are on the signup sheet, that will be used at the gate for access. If not on that list, participants will need to go through visitor desk for access. If participants have CAC card or other authorizing ID, they may proceed through gate without check in at visitor desk. 8. NEW BUSINESS: MOTION FOR DISCUSSION AND/OR ACTION on the organization performing its regularly scheduled shows on December 25,2016, Christmas Day. Jeff Ingertson provided background for information describing past situations. Steve Reeder observed that on past Christmas Day shows he recalled fair crowds. Pat Kelly noted that all shops and restaurants in town would be closed, and that past Christmas days saw only minimal tourists visiting Tombstone.
