Agriculture Detector Dog History 1984 U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) established the Beagle Brigade. 2000 USDA added Border Brigade and Cargo Brigade. 2003 Transferred Operations to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). 2012 Agriculture Canine Program is currently positioned under CBP Office of Field Operation s Agriculture Program and Trade Liaison (APTL).

CBP Agriculture K9 Program Mission To prevent terrorists and their weapons from entering the United States. To interdict illegal narcotics, illegal immigrants, undeclared currency, and prohibited agriculture products entering the United States. To assist other Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement Agencies. To enhance our stated mission through community outreach to schools, civic groups, and established community organizations.

National Detector Dog Training Center USDA/APHIS National Detector Dog Training Center (NDDTC). Agriculture canines are trained for specific environments.
