INTEGRATION AND IMPACT, BY AFRICA GREAT LAKES REGION BELARUS COLOMBIA MADAGASCAR In the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Burundi, Pact assists resource-dependent communities in gaining lasting benefits from the more sustainable use of the natural resources around them. Pact takes an integrated approach to its work in the mining sector, linking mining to livelihoods, governance, health, environment, and the strengthening of local, regional, and national institutions. Pact works in Belarus to promote a strong civil society by building the capacity of local organizations, making room for progressive reforms and civic activism for positive social change. In Colombia, Pact works with partners across the mining, health, education, and public sectors to combat child labor and address its complex set of underlying causes.
