FEATURING MARK OWEN Mark is local musician based in Mapleton. His musical career has spanned from Hard Rock and Blues in the 1980 s before moving to the Sunshine Coast and became a regular Solo artist and member of several Cover line ups on locally. Today he performs an eclectic set of acoustic music containing original material new and from over the years and some interesting reworks of some of his favourite covers. An entertainer at heart and in person. ALISHA TODD Alisha hails from small town Gympie, raised on country and rock and has recently returned from a long European hiatus with lots to share. With a new profound affection for jazz fusion and the rhythms encountered in late night street ciphers and D Angelo records, Alisha extends her bubble of happiness with everyone she plays to through her wandering melodies and old soul delivery. ALISHA WILL BE JOINED BY PERFORMER LEE HARDISTY Lee Hardisty brings a plethora of instruments; flute, saxes, guitar, kalimbas, keys and vocals to the stage live looping a mix of your favourite covers and his own original music. Mapleton Hall and Sportsground enjoyed beautiful weather at the recent Flea Markets held inside and outside the Hall, with over 40 different stalls. Thank you to the very talented Lee Hardisty and beautiful Shaye for your live music performances and Chris De Vere for his Rhee Tae Kwon Do demonstration. Join us for our next Market on Saturday 22nd September from 8am to 12pm. Mapleton Bowls Club Tuesday winners with a 2 plus 8 were Eileen Lovelock, Nita Shoyer and Allan Lewis, runnerups being Mike Linfoot and Ed Hallet with a plus 12. The raffles were Joy Lilley, and Graham Paterson Saturday 4/8/81, results were winners with a 2 plus 15 were Dave Peggie, Bob Bethke and Sandra Jordan. Photographic exhibition opening Myall Park Botanic Garden held on the 4 August found many locals and visitors joining the celebrations. Open until September. Plan a visit.

Perhaps the catchy name helped. Computer needed urgently with old operating system 1995 or 1997. Please drop into Mapleton Community Library or telephone 5445 7182 and we will collect. Continuing News Earlier in the year we filmed your wonderful volunteers, as part of our video, Aussie Volunteer. It was launched during National Volunteer Week in late May both here on the Sunshine Coast and at the QLD State Volunteering Awards in Brisbane. https://www.facebook.com/aussievolunteer/ We want to thank you and the volunteers once again for their contribution to the project. Mapleton Community Library: August artist in focus Barbara Willcocks on show now. Mapleton Bowls Club Dinner nights Friday: 27 July.
