THE VACANCIES NOTIFIED NOW WILL BE *1 PORT ONED ZN BETWEEN THE TWO NEW STATES AS PER THE DECISION OF THE HIGH COURT AT THE APPROPRIATE TIME AND SUBJECT TO PROVISIONS OF A.P. REORGAITSATION ACT, 2014. THIS NOTIFICATION IS ISSUED IN TERMS OF TEE ORDERS OF THE HON BLE SUPREME COURT IN CIVIL APPEAL NO 1867 OF 2006, DATID 04.1.2007. Applications are invited for appointment to 2 (two) posts of Ditdct and Sessions Judge (Entry Level) in the State Judicial Service to be made by direct recruitment in the following manner: ABSTRACT ST 2 Total: 2 QUALIFICATIONS: The applicant for the above said post shall be, (a) an Advocate of not less than 7 years standing at the Bar, (b) not have completed 48 years of age (as the vacancies notified for ST category only) as on 01.04.2016.. (c) of sound health and active habits and free from any bodily defect or infirmity which render him/her unfit for such appointment. No person shall be eligible for appointment to the category if: i) He! she is not a citizen of India; ii) He/she is dismissed from service by any High Court; iii) He/she has been convicted of an offence involving moral turpitude; iv) He/she is or has been permanently debarred or disqualified by the High Court or Union Public Service Commission or any State Public Service Commission from appearing for examination or selections conducted by it; v) He/she directly or indirectly influences the recruitment authority by any means for his/her candidature; Contd...2

RESERVATION: Rule 7 of the State Judicial Service Rules, 2007, shall apply to the appointments to be made by Direct Recruitment. WRITThN EXAMINATION: Selection to the above posts shall be made by conducting written examination comprising (a) Objective Questions with Multiple Choice, and (b) Subjective/narrative, which is for 80 marks, followed by sri interview (viva voce). THE MODE OF WRITTEN EAMNATION IS AS FOLLOWS: Paper-I Paper-il - Objective - Subjective/narrative questions with multiple choice for 20 marks (40 questions at the rate of half mark per question). for 60 marks (6 questions, 10 marks per question) (Total duration for two papers three hours). ViVA VOCE (INTERVIEW) The viva voce is for 20 marks. The written examination is meant to test the academic knowledge of the candidate and the viva voce is to test the candidate s communication skills; tact; ability to defuse the situation to control the examination of witnesses and also lengthy irrelevant arguments and the like; and general knowledge. MINIMUM QUALIFYING MARKS TO BE SECURED: As per sub-rule (4) of Rule 6 of the Andhra Pradesh State Judicial Service Rules, 2007,- the written examination is for 80 marks and the viva voce is for 20 marks. The minimum qualifying marks in the written examination for ST category is 30%. There are no minimum marks for the viva voce. Contd...3

SYLLABUS: 1. Procedural Laws Civil and Criminal Laws and Law of Evidence. 2. Law concerning tenancy including Land Reforms, Ceiling, Land Acquisition Laws etc. 3. All State Laws. 4. Constitutional Law and Administrative Law. 5. Substantive Laws, such as Transfer of Property Act, Indian Penal Code, Contract Act, Motor Vehicles Act, Specific Relief Act etc. 6. Laws of Inheritance, Succession, Marriage and Divorce. 7. Protection of Civil Rights Act, 1955 and the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. SCALE OF PAY: The selected candidates will be appointed on probation for a period of two years on an initial pay of Rs.51550/- per month with usual allowances in the Scale of Pay Rs.51550-1230-.58930-1380-63070 in the Pay Scale applicable to District and Sessions Judge (Entry Level).
