Welcome to the El Dorado County State of Jefferson A Sovereign State in Formation Hi Jeffersonians: Amgen Tour of California This is a huge 645 mile bike race that started in Long Beach last Sunday and will be in Placerville this Friday morning, May 18 th, around 10:30 AM. The State of Jefferson will be in downtown Placerville and in the parking lot on Clay & Main Street across from Cedar Ravine Road. We will be wearing our gear and holding signs and flags. If anyone needs a sign, please contact Jack Parsons at 916-425-9461. Don t hesitate cheering the bikers on from other locations. The race will head east on Green Valley Road from Folsom starting at 9:40 AM. The route is Green Valley Road to Placerville Drive and onto Main Street. The bikers will go out Cedar Ravine to Pleasant Valley Road to Sly Park Road to Mormon Emigrant Trail to Hwy 88 to Hwy 206 over Kingsbury Grade to Pioneer Trail and end at Heavenly Mountain Resort in South Lake Tahoe by 3:41. The State of Jefferson is planning to be there cheering them on when they finish the race. Friday s segment, from Folsom to Tahoe, is the sixth of seven segments in the Amgen Tour of California and is over 122 miles long and has an elevation gain of almost 16,000 feet. The riders of this race go on to the Tour de France, which is a big deal. Jeffersonians Need to Get Out the Vote Primary Elections are very important, especially in California. The top 2 vote getters go to the General Election regardless of political party. Jeffersonians oppose Liberals that want to take away our second amendment rights, and open the boarders to a Sanctuary State. Both of our choices in the 2016 General Election for U.S. Senate were Liberals just like that. Former Attorney General Kamala Harris and Loretta Sanchez were our only choices. Candidates running in this year s primary that have been to State of Jefferson meetings, believe in second amendment rights, and oppose the Sanctuary State are: Steven Bailey, for Attorney General, Mark

Meuser, for Secretary of State, Tom McClintock, for Congressional District IV, and Kevin Kiley, for Assembly District VI. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD: Jefferson is not in favor of splitting California into 3 States. Vote NO! We oppose this because it does nothing to solve the problem of the imbalance of representation, and could give us 3 Liberal States that would add 6 Liberal Senators to the U. S. Senate. PLEASE VOTE, and please vote wisely. Court Date Scheduled Please Show Up & Be Counted As announced at our May 8th El Dorado County SOJ meeting, Friday, June 1, is the scheduled date for our next court hearing in the case, Citizens for Fair Representation (CFR) v Secretary of State Alex Padilla, for lack of representation and dilution of vote. The hearing was scheduled after our legal team filed a motion, requesting a 3-judge panel. In addition, they requested the larger court room, as are expecting Jeffersonians to turn out by the hundreds, to show the huge amount of support there is for representation and liberty. The three-judge panel, is our guarantee for our direct path to the U.S. Supreme Court. Ride the Bus to the Courthouse What was not asked at Tuesday's meeting or in our last newsletter, is if you intend on going to the courthouse and would like our committee to charter a bus that would drop you off right at the courthouse. In the past we have chartered buses to the State Capitol. The hearing is at 10 am, but we need to arrive at the courthouse at 9 am. If the Judge were to cancel or reschedule the court hearing, we are still going to show up. It also needs to be noted, that more than likely, all will not be able to be in the courtroom. However, it is most important that we make our presence known, inside the courthouse and on the sidewalks surrounding the courthouse. Whether the hearing goes on or not, we are calling for a press conference, a first for Jefferson. Speaking will be our attorney, Gary Zerman and Jefferson spokesperson, Terry Rapoza. This is another major reason to be outside the courthouse with flags and signs. Numbers Count and we need to show those across California and as well as State elected officials know that we mean business and we are not going away. The press conference will also give us the opportunity to declare our opposition to Tim Draper's 3-Way State Split. The cost of the bus ride per person, will be around $27, and we would depart from Cameron Park, Safeway/McDonald's at about 8 am. We should return no later than around 1 pm. If you would like to reserve a seat (s), or want more information, please email Terry Gherardi liberty_x@sbcglobal.net or call 530-677-4294. We would also like to know if there are any of you, who might volunteer to coordinate this.
