I Research Background and Objectives

Background Due to the war in Syria, which began in 2011, its citizens have been forced to flee to neighboring countries such as Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon. To date, it is estimated that the number of refugees in Lebanon has reached 880,063 (registered), spread across all regions in Lebanon, with highest concentrations in Bekaa and the North. Diplomats from around the world will meet this Wednesday January 22 nd, 2014 to begin to negotiate an end to the war in Syria by bringing together the Syrian regime and the Syrian opposition to discuss a transitional government for Syria. 4

Objectives Avaaz Org. is interested in the views of Syrian refugees in Bekaa regarding the civil war in Syria, Geneva summit this week, its resolutions, list of measures to be taken, etc The research will reflect Syrian refugees opinion regarding the matters mentioned above in more detail. 5
