President James D. Spaniolo cordially invites you to a reception and dinner with Seth Meyers seth meyers is an actor, comedian, and writer now in his 11th season as a Saturday Night Live cast member. He is in his sixth season as the show s head writer and Weekend Update anchor. During the Weekend Update segment, Meyers lampoons top news stories and entertains fan favorite guests, including the outlandish city correspondent Stefon. Before focusing solely on Update, he was a regular player in sketches and performed numerous characters. A graduate of Northwestern University, Meyers got his start in improv there as a member of the sketch group Mee-Ow. He later joined ImprovOlympic with the group Preponderate and performed overseas at Boom Chicago Theater in Amsterdam. His acclaimed show with partner Jill Benjamin, Pick-ups and Hiccups, toured Europe and eventually caught the eye of SNL. Meyers has also parlayed his success into several emcee appearances, twice hosting both the Webby and ESPY Awards. He has also hosted the Microsoft Company Meeting. In 2011, he was the keynote speaker at the White House Correspondents Association Dinner. His film credits include New Year s Eve, Journey to the Center of the Earth, and Nick and Norah s Infinite Playlist, among others. President James D. Spaniolo Cokie Roberts is a political commentator for ABC News, providing analysis for all network news programming. She also serves as senior news analyst for NPR and appears regularly on This Week With George Stephanopoulos. From 1996-2002, Roberts and Sam Donaldson co-anchored the weekly ABC interview program This Week. In her more than 40 years in broadcasting, she has won numerous awards, including three Emmys and the Edward R. Murrow Award. Roberts has been inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame, and she was cited by the American Women in Radio and Television as one of the 50 greatest women in the history of broadcasting. In addition to her appearances on the airwaves, Roberts and her husband write a weekly column syndicated in newspapers around the country by United Media. The Roberts are also contributing editors to USA Weekend Magazine, and together they wrote From This Day Forward, an account of their more than 40-year marriage and other marriages in American history, and Our Haggadah, a book about uniting traditions for interfaith families. Roberts also wrote We Are Our Mothers Daughters, which is an account of women s roles and relationships throughout American history. Her books Founding Mothers and Ladies of Liberty are about the histories of women in America s founding era. All of Roberts books have been bestsellers. Roberts holds more than 20 honorary degrees and serves on the boards of several non-profit institutions. Former President George W. Bush appointed her to serve on the Commission on Service and Civic Participation, and in 2008 the Library of Congress named her a living legend. She is one of very few Americans to have attained that honor. Roberts is the mother of two and grandmother of six. President James D. Spaniolo cordially invites you to a reception and dinner with Frank Deford is a versatile American writer whose work has appeared in virtually every medium. In addition to his 50-year tenure at Sports Illustrated, where he is a senior contributing writer, Deford appears regularly on National Public Radio and Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel on HBO. He is the author of 17 novels. His latest is Over Time: My Life as a Sportswriter. An avid supporter of cystic fibrosis awareness since his daughter was diagnosed with the illness in 1972, he serves as chairman emeritus of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. For his excellence in sports journalism, Deford has been elected to the Hall of Fame of the National Association of Sportscasters and Sportswriters. He is a six-time U.S. Sportswriter of the Year (as elected by his peers), and the American Journalism Review has cited him as the nation s finest sportswriter. He was twice voted Magazine Writer of the Year by the Washington Journalism Review. For his broadcast work, he has been recognized with an Emmy and a George Foster Peabody Award. Deford has also forayed into movies and documentaries. His novel Everybody s All-American and his memoir Alex: The Life of a Child, which is about his daughter who died of cystic fibrosis, have been made into movies. He has also written or contributed to several television documentaries, including Barbaro in 2008. Born in Baltimore, Md., Deford currently resides in Westport, Conn., with his wife Carol. They have two grown children a son, Christian, and a daughter, Scarlet. Deford is a graduate of Princeton University, where he also taught American studies.
