1 APUSH Calendar This calendar is a general guide for the school year. It does not take into account any random school testing days or scheduling changes, so be aware that it can change. It can also change depending on how well the class seems to do with the information in each chapter and unit. You will notice that each week covers about two chapters (especially at the beginning of the year), which means that you should be reading and completing the packets and assignments for each of the two chapters throughout that week or before. The expectation is that a chapter will be read and the packet will be complete on the day you see the chapter written on the calendar. All homework and chapter packets will be checked at the beginning of class and more often then not we will then take a short reading quiz to make sure you understood the main points of the chapter. These quizzes will be part of your participation grade and will be a way to check your comprehension of the reading. I would recommend that you make staying on top of your reading one of your main priorities for this class. If you can stay on top of this, then you should be successful in class discussions and quizzes and tests. At the end of every unit, you will see that you have a unit test that will be a combination of multiple choice, short answer, and long essay questions. Sometimes you will have only a DBQ instead. Before a unit test, you will see a day of prep. During this time we will be looking over the possible essay options as well as answering any questions about the information covered in the unit.. Overall this is meant to be a guide to help keep us all organized! Good luck and I hope this is a great year!
