2 LEGISLATION OUR PEOPLE MAKE THE DIFFERENCE! Pro-Choice Victories! 4 HR L. Herod (D) Concerning Ensuring Access to Reproductive Healthcare was one of the first of it s kind. A resolution that stated reproductive healthcare is a central component of ALL healthcare! 4 HB B. Pettersen (D) 12 Month Contraceptive Supply allows people who Lobby Day In partnership with the Reproductive Health, Reproductive Rights and Reproductive Justice coalition, Reproductive Freedom Lobby Day 201 had over 150 participants! Congrats to Greg Hartman and the entire organizing team for their great work! use contraceptives to access up to 12 months of their prescription at one time. 4 LARC for : s pioneering legislation that provides low or no-cost Long Acting Reversible Contraception to low income women. 5 Anti-Choice Bills Defeated! HB J. Everett (R) Abortion Pill Reversal Act would have required Doctors and the State of to lie to women, providing them with a pill that has not been approved by the FDA to do something it can t do reverse an abortion. HB P. Neville (R) Women s Health Protection Act (TRAP) is another model bill based off of similar legislation in Texas that places undue regulatory burdens on clinics in an effort to shut them down and has been deemed unconstitutional. HB S. Humphrey (R) Protect Human Life at Conception (Personhood) is an attempt to outright ban legal abortion care. HB T. Leonard (R) No Trafficking Aborted Human Body Parts The Megabill of Anti-Abortion Measures (10 model bills in one) SB284 - K. Lundberg (R) A Woman s Right To Accurate Health Care Medical Advisory Committee The NARAL Pro-Choice Medical Advisory Committee consists of over 40 members who speak to press and testify at the Capitol to make sure that medical facts are being heard over partisan bickering. Testimony Training In February, our team did a Facebook Live training to 40+ volunteers on how to testify at the Capitol! Staying Busy! NARAL Pro-Choice likes to stay busy advocating for your rights at the Capitol. In addition to the highlights presented here, we were also proud to host our largest ever Legislative Training and Luncheon with over 90 attendees in January and our largest Gala for our 50th Anniversary with over 60 attendees and honored guest, Dr. Willie Parker. Information contained over 10 model bills in it including abortion reversal, mandatory ultrasounds, waiting periods and numerous other bad ideas. Continued Fights: 4 HB130 - F. Winter (D) - Family And Medical Leave Insurance Program Wage Replacement (FAMLI) would provide paid family leave for workers, allowing women and families greater financial opportunity. 4 HB112 - S. Lontine (D) - Exempt Feminine Hygiene Products From Sales Tax would have reclassified tampons as necessary items not subject to state tax codes.
