March 1, 2013 Minutes approved Guest Speakers Delta Sigma Pi: Professional Co-ed Fraternity-College of Business at UWF, for students who are looking to further their professional networks, Delta Sigma Pi holds several events with speakers who present to students, are participating in Relay for Life, partnered with Career Services to bring in several companies for the most recent Career Fair, are very involved on campus with Phonathon Peer Educators: Increase visibility on campus, working on better image, mission is to make a difference on campus and focus on alcohol use/misuse, sexual health information and other important areas for students on a college campus, reached 3,341 students on campus last year, Bacchus Gamma Conference was a success, goals and objectives for Spring 2013, Take back the night event coming up-be the voice along with HIV testing coming up this semester to promote UWF V. Appointments None VI. Legislative Addresses Senate Pres Bueno: Thanks Senators for attending and being active during Dr. Kelly s presentation today, Relay for Life reminder-jordan Self is the captain for SGA, encourages everyone to attend and show support for Relay for Life, may have to leave Senate early today, will not be attending Senate on April 5-Senate Pro-tempore will be taking over, last day is April 12, vote during Elections-next week, Spring into Action is tomorrow Rules & Statutes Chair Hartley: First absence for the semester and voted not to remove the Senator University Outreach Chair Stepina: Finished Teaching Awards, CAS Senators will be meeting for an informal lunch with Dean Halonen at 12pm on March 29, DSA-in the interview process Student Outreach Chair Dannheisser: Health survey will start Monday, will be analyzed on April 29, and will be discussing results with Matt Marshall next week for the new student union survey results Budget & Allocations Chair Thrasher:

Executive Addresses President Merritt: Open office hours with Dr. Bense, FSA conference call updates from past week, Rally in Tally is coming up, BOT meeting this week and updates relevant to SGA, retention rate results will be announced by Dr. Bailey, working on accreditation for the University, encourages everyone to promote voting during the SGA elections Vice President Averhart: Report and updates on Freshman Committee and leadership development, Midterm exam jam updates which was held the week before spring break, meeting with Family Programs today as a project for Freshman Committee as a focus group Cabinet-Chief of Staff Kendrick: Reminders on Aim Higher Baseball Game, Rally in Tally is April 3-touring the old capital and the new capital Freshman Committee Chair Osley: Absent Administrative Addresses Vice President of Student Affairs Dr. Bailey: University Police Dept has moved in bldg 94-more space and parking on campus, no new updates on Chartwells contract, BOT unanimously passed student code of conduct, encourages to participate in the survey which was sent out, retention rate updates out of 1596, 180 did not return this semester: 60% transferred to another school, implications of the calls were analyzed, Provost Martha Saunders is also working on the results of the phone calls in relevance to financial aid packages, possible Summer discount program for face-to-face classes only, June 11-will break ground for the new campus restaurant on the east side of campus Removals Rules & Statutes Committee: No removals X.
